Default Trailering a C7

I ordered the Museum Delivery for a Z06 that "may" be delivered in December or January. It was finished yesterday, Nov 14. I'm seriously considering bringing the car home (to Austin, TX) in a friend's enclosed trailer.

Does anyone have any experience securing a C7 to a trailer? Are there points on the frame where you can tie down the car? Any advice would be appreciated.

Use straps over the tires, most enclosed trailers are set up for doing that.

When I get around to ordering, it will be a museum delivery. I'll use my enclosed trailer to get it home, regardless of the time of year. I use padded Mac's Tie Down straps through the wheels on my Mustang and I would do the same with the Corvette. I have yet to ever mark up a wheel using that technique. The wheels are the strongest piece in the car. It also allows the car's suspension to work while in the trailer.

Just hauled one this morning from my dealership.

Straps through the wheels, if you have the right ones. Or there are a few places under the car you can grab it, if your floor tie down rings are in the right places.

Underneath the C7 are 4 anchor points for you to use straps with if use the below type connector

My enclosed trailer has ramps now, making it easy to use those anchor points, but I had without the ramps and still can be done with little effort

Hauled mine back in October. Over the tires on the front. On the rear criss cross and every 200 miles check to make sure straps are tight and pray for good weather.

I am doing the same end of Mar. I am using the mini T hooks fro the front, and using axle straps for the rear around the rear cross-member. I am using a nylon bridle to winch it into the trailer. My nephew (13) will be at the wheel so we can lift it out of the window...

The over the tire wheel straps seem to be the best overall, (my trailer will not support this) but running straps through the wheels and using that as tie down seems to be stressing the suspension in a way that it was not designed...

Just my 2 cents for ya...

Just Google, Mini T tow hook...I got mine from Summit, Part Number MTD-340003. They are 9 bucks a piece. If you search around in summit you can find the axle straps and the winch bridle (made by Mac's). I plan to winch it in backwards to help with ground clearance and ensure the straight line pull doesn't interfere with front end. I will then put the transport cover (they will give it to you) on it.

Checking trailer tire pressures and car security every 200 miles seems about right as well... Make sure to check the hub temp, don't need any blow outs with your baby inside...

Doc

PS, I have checked this Mini T in a 2015 and it does fit. only goes in one way, so you will have to play for 2-8 seconds before it locks in... If you want clearance measurements I have those too... PM me if you want to discuss other this I considered on my planning for a March Delivery...

I hauled mine back in February. There are plenty of places to hook to in the rear,I had to go thru my front wheels with the straps. Just tie her down good and keep close check for shifting .
