We take the lowest point of the front fascia and extend it parallel to the ground, definition of a splitter.... hence we don't lower the ride height, but do make the car longer by one inch. The notch is then added to help with drivability.
Thanks. This is a great video and really helps show the clearance.
I have a lowered C5 and I'm looking to add a C7 Z51 Stingray coupe and I've always liked the look of splitters. I parked my C5 next to a C7 last week at a local show and noticed that my C5 from bumper was lower than the C7 front bumper by about 2 inches.
I think it lowers the clearance only the thickness of the material itself, maybe 1/8"? The front protrusion would be the main concern for me. The ACS video shows how to approach a driveway or other obstacle. But you know sooner or later you are bound to hear that distressing "Crunch"!
A friend of mine installed a splitter on a slammed C5Z. Before he installed it, he applied spray truck bedliner on the bottom of the splitter to help protect it against abrasions. He tells me it works well.

Please post a copy of the installation instructions. Thank you in advance.

I have the front and side pkg. You do have to be careful with the front ..It looks great but I have damaged the front twice.A little sand paper and paint can fix the issues FYI

What type of finish is on the bottom, underside of the splitter? What finish did you choose?

All our parts are RTM molded, in simple terms, this means it is injected molded fiberglass. This gives us a smooth finish on either side of the part.
In addition we primed all our parts and undercoat the bottom surface, we use a bed liner type material to protect the panels from rock chips.
We also use continuous glass unlike most aftermarket parts are made with chopped strand mat and utilize high grade vynilester resins.... this is how we were able to meet GM's 7 year durability standard....

Thanks again for the information. So if you choose Carbon Flash as the finish, the bottom will still have the bed liner type material correct? Also, on the blue Stingray in the video, what is the clearance from the ground to the bottom of the splitter?
