Default ACS Splitter

Does the ACS splitter install with existing fasteners or does it require the use of rivets, similar to the rockers? Thanks

Existing fasteners.
The only comment is that most front splitters will rub and if you are not careful, you will damage or scrape your front splitter.
After damaging 2 front splitters, I have finally decided against it.
It just gets too expensive replacing one after another. Just my opinion.

I have the ACS kit and the hardware that comes with it requires you to rivet along with existing hardware and a couple push clips.

Instead of rivets, I used screws and u clips to hold them in. Worked great and allowed for easy removal when needed.

Think twice before you lower your car. After you install front splitter, potholes, bumps, gas station entrances, all becomes your enemy!!.

I first went to my local Chevy dealership to see about getting the same screws that hold the air dam on, but they were over $4 each! Next stop was Fastenal where I paid only $13 for everything I needed.

Hey, if you don't mind and still have the info, please post up or shoot me a PM with the Fastenal hardware that you used. I think I may give this a shot after I drill mine out to put the Z06 grill in. I can see the need to take this off periodically for paint being lowered and getting blasted with rocks.

I bought a few extras too, so I still have the box at home. I'll post the info later this evening.

Perfect, thank you. I just ordered an ACS splitter and I've been trying to understand your installation process. It will probably make more since once I see the actual installation directions.

These are the screws I used. I was able to screw them directly through the bumper cover without drilling a hole first. http://www.fastenal.com/web/products...32&searchMode=

These are the u-nuts that I used to hold the screws in. I did not actually clip these to anything, but instead just screwed the screws through the bumper cover and then through the u-nuts until tight. http://www.fastenal.com/web/products...39&searchMode=

This has been my main fear. I have the skirts but will probably forego the splitter.

I've read a couple of vendor sites that claim the ACS Splitter does not lower the clearance of the C7. Not sure if that is true considering you are installing it under the existing front bumper. I know it will extend the bumper out, which may make it harder to pull into incline parking lots, etc., however how much lower does the ACS splitter actually sit?

Hi Msg,

We take the lowest point of the front fascia and extend it parallel to the ground, definition of a splitter.... hence we don't lower the ride height, but do make the car longer by one inch. The notch is then added to help with drivability.

I think it lowers the clearance only the thickness of the material itself, maybe 1/8"? The front protrusion would be the main concern for me. The ACS video shows how to approach a driveway or other obstacle. But you know sooner or later you are bound to hear that distressing "Crunch"!
