Is the GM CU discount only on factory orders or can you get for stock on hand? How does that effect the dealer profit? When I priced out a new unit using the CU discount it was pretty substantial $4-$5K

I don't know why you would say there are no good discounts on the 2014's? I just picked up my 14 Limerock green Z51 vert for $9400 off sticker. It has the A6 trans which I love. Its my first auto trans out of about 8 vettes so I keep trying to put my left foot on the clutch. Other than that its a great car at a great price. The best I have seen on a 15 is about $4k off on a coupe. There are no 15 verts at this time due to some constraint but I don't know what it is. There are some 14's still out there and there are some great deals as long as you stay away from the so. cal dealers as they think their cars are gold and always have. F em, way better deals across the country and most forum dealers. In fact, I was seeing some today around the $57k price!

I'm thrilled to hear that you like your A6. Five out of my six Vettes (this new one is number seven) have been manual. I just picked-up (delivered next week) a 2015 Laguna Blue, Z51 convertible with the A8 in it. I've been losing sleep over the "loss" of the manual trans, but I MUST have that A8. Absolute worst case, I hate it and I buy a new Z06. :-) Best case (which is what I expect), I love it and I keep the car for years to come!!
