Since there is not a big discount on 2014's do I look for a 2015? The dealer told me the only difference is the 8 speed auto trans. I don't know if that is a big advantage or not. The 6 speed has been around for a long time and who knows if the 8 speed will have issues. I am really trying to find something with the Kalahari interior. It looks awesome with Shark Grey. Open to a coupe of convertible as long as it is a 2LT or 3LT.
Anyone looking for a super clean C6 4LT 2008 low miles drop me a note.
I am located in Central FL.
I have the 2014 with the A6 and am completely in love with the car, but the A8 is a game changer in my book. I would probably go for a 2015 if I were in your shoes...
Join a credit union on the GM credit union discount website, find a dealer that honors the discount, and get your 2015 C7. My C7 stickered at $74,595, I paid $67k-ish, thats a 2015 too with the A8 and Z51, and 3LT.

If you are looking to get a shark gray exterior, you'll have to go with the '15. But with the discounts being offered (credit union/military), getting into a '15 is a good deal.
I did not belong to a credit union until I found a dealer in Bradenton who honors the CU discount. I joined MidFlorida CU just to buy a car. *** Chevy discounted my '15 Z51 coupe over $6,000. Works out to about 9% discount. The A8 is awesome!
Don't even think about a 2014 A6. As others have pointed out, great discounts to be had on the 2015's and although the A6 is a proven piece, the A8 renders the A6 yesterday's newspapers with the technology improvements the A8 has. There have been quite a few threads on here, especially the recent Z06 A8 reviews, trumpeting the A8.
You can get a better deal and have a better selection if you go with the 2015. Since you are in FL check AutoTrader and the 2015 C-7's advertised by Lorenzo Bomnin in Miami. Arctic White $48,995 and Torch Red $49,990. Probably can't find a 2014 at those prices.
They are only discounting the 2014 but $2k. It is a convertible with 2LT and some additional options so the MSRP is like $70,765 and they are taking $2 off and not giving a great trade value either. I am thinking that a 2015 makes more sense. Will have to shop but the problem locating a long distance is the trade because most will not commit until they see it.

Maybe you can take some photos of the interior and exterior of your trade and e mail them to the dealer.

I know a dealer in S.C. that has a 2014 silver 3LT vert on the showroom floor that they said they would take Credit Union pricing for. Drop me a PM if interested.
Performance Data Recorder and LTE wifi hot spot are also new options for 2015. The A8 and PDR are why I elected to wait for a 2015. My 2014 wasn't going to be built until the early summer so I waited. YMMV.
I was in the same boat, only $1000 off MSRP for a 2014 at the dealer, then I did the whole order process and found out I qualified for supplier pricing beating the previous dealers offer out of the water.
One thing I really enjoy about my 2015 is the performance data recorder, I tell it to record every time I drive just in case.

Of course they are not going to "give" you an automatic discount on a 2014 or 2015. They get an automatic kick-back from GM even if they sell the car at invoice but I've heard that the salesman doesn't get much when they do that. I purchased a 2014 A6 vert last month for about $1,000 under invoice but I can't tell how many times I started to walk out and it took about 6 hours altogether. Even gave me a reasonable, not great, trade value that I could accept.
As far as the differences between an A6 and A8 there was a recent post that compared quarter mile ET's and there where essentially no differences. For me I could not care less about the transmission, besides the A6 came in the color I wanted and it had to be a vert.
I also know of a dealer in SC that has a 2014 CRM Z51 vert. with 3LT and A6. Just be prepared to spend the day. Good luck.
I had the same dilemma last week! I opted for the 2015, A8, 3LT, Z51, convertible. The car stickered for $79,400. I got it for $72,200. That's just over 9% off. Look around. Drive a hard bargain. The Dealers are dealing now.
