Hey guys, Any known weak links in the drivetrain on the new stingrays from a drag racing perspective? I'm looking into an A6 or A8 stingray soon, my c5Z keeps breaking at the drag strip (output shaft, then the differential cracked open). Just curious if the C7 fixed these issues and made their drivetrain basically bulletproof for bolt ons.
I have heard of one or two broken diffs on modified cars on radials. But nothing that shows a pattern of weakness.
An automatic is always going to be the better choice for the drag strip. They don't hit the tires as hard as a clutch dump and are far easier on parts (at least until the point of a TB, but the auto will still be stronger).
