Radar detectors
So I know this is a repeat, but I would like to hear some input.... I sold my C6 with my Escort 9500x on a Blendmount under the rear view mirror. I really liked it mounted there and I am in the market for another one. I was thinking of maybe a Valentine One or to go with an Escort again. But I know there are others like K40. I really liked the red light camera warnings it had. Any suggestions?? Should I just go with another 9500x. I bought mine 5 years ago and technology changes so fast.

I just bought an Escort redline because of reviews I read ( bought the smart cord to use with Escort live cord.) I previously owned the 9500ix that was stolen from my car and it was a good radar detector ( it had GPS). However, I got the Escort redline because of review comparisons and the live cord so I don't think I'll miss the gps aspect of the 9500ix. Plus, the redline is completely stealth because of this fact.

I read about the smart cord and live cord, but did not fully understand the function of them. I will buy a Blendmount and do not want to see cords anyway. Doesn't the redline not have the red light camera warnings??

Its all personal preference and I have used the Valentine 1 for about 5 years. I like its long distance capabilities. In my C6 I have the cord attached to the rear view mirror. In the C7 I just have a cord hanging down for the time being.

Bought a Passport MAX for the C7, like it a lot. Use their supplied "Sticky Mount" located high on the windshield to the right of the mirror. Found it sticks very well IF the windshield is very clean in that spot. Found a small piece of rubber needed to be wedged into the mount to eliminate vibration.
I had a 9500x on my C6. Just ordered a 9500IX for my C7. I like the GPS feature. Was going back and forth between it, the max, and the V1. I am not 100% sold on how the new passport max looks, so I went with the 9500. I don't think you can wrong with any of them, its preference at this point.
I've been using the Valentine 1 for 16 years, upgraded them 3 times (we have 2) and have become so accustomed to their alerting patterns that I would probably have a hard time switching.
Any of the top tier units will get the job done but the real thing that will protect you is how well you are able to interpret the information they are giving you. Stick with the one you are comfortable with.
I installed the 9500IX in both of our C7's and used the Blendmount mirror mount. Also used the wire to the mirror power like the C6 install. I do suggest using a small round file to place a wire relief before reinstalling the wire connector cover!
Valentine bigot here, have 3 of them now. Like the upgrade feature and I live by the arrows. Have not owned an Escort since they were as big as a brick and sat on the dashboard. (Yeah, it's probably time to look at them again!)
I just mounted the Valentine in the Vette using a blend mount and the mirror tap. Clean install
Agree with a previous poster about going stealth with the install. The Valentine remote read out keeps the mirror mounted unit from advertising it's there.

When I had the Blendmount under the mirror, nobody ever noticed it. I couldn't tell you about tickets as I never got one in my C6. I am most interested in the Red Light feature and limiting the false alarms. That is what I am after, which is why I am leaning to the Max2.
From all the research I have done the Passport Max and now Max2 seem to be the best non built-in versions. The Blendmount works well with the unit and looks very clean. Max2 incorporates Bluetooth so you can use their live app from your phone which is like a social media site accessing data notes from other users in the area. Both units have built in GPS so red light cameras, speed traps, etc. are all there plus it is quick to filter out and remember false signals.
