Melting Slicks
I don't think this video and news story is going to change anyone's behavior, not for very long anyway. The valet being tempted to "hit it" is one thing, actually choosing to hit it is another. People are supposed to be responsible (or at least accountable) for their actions, but people just suck nowadays. And it's getting worse.

It's been 34 years since I valet parked cars and I can say with confidence nothing has changed! However we didn't have dashboard cameras documenting what was going on back then if we had I may never have learned to drive a stick shift.

Safety Car
I for one bought my Corvette to be used as a car, although it is not a new C7. I still wouldn't think twice about valet parking if it was, but would be sure to mention they are being watched.
I also park it at the airport when I fly out for weeks at a time without giving it a second thought.
It would have been fun to review the PDR footage with the driver before you left, the look on his face when you said "Come watch this video of you driving to the parking space" would have been priceless!

This is exactly why I don't drive the Vette (any that I've had) to any place that requires valet parking. I have other vehicles for that. It's a sad statement on my level of trust of others.

Never Valet. I live in Vegas and the two times I Valet my z06 I had to fix the driver door solenoid cause the idiot yanked on it cause he didn't know how to get into the car. Second time my settings were changed and my battery was drained due to them leaving the car on Accessory On and leaving my fob in car. To think I tipped them too. Grr....
Otherwise I Valet all the time.
All the Vegas hotels on the strip have cams everywhere and the Valet's know it. If you're at a big resorts, the Valet's make real money. Not worth racing it.

In ten years of valet parking exotics in Vegas, only had one problem -- the Mandalay Bay -- which has the worse valet service in the world.
Otherwise I Valet all the time.

I live in Vegas and personally know a valet. He's an early 20s kid living at home and lives a few houses down from me. He sometimes swings by to chat about my Z06. He's a real car buff nice kid actually. I can't even begin to tell you how many stories he's told me about how he and the guys he works with beat the ever living crap out of all the high end cars that come into the valet area. They are salivating and rubbing their hands together just waiting to tear up your car as soon as you turn your back on them.
Go ahead be lazy and valet your gorgeous 50k plus car. Just don't be surprised to find out it got the crap kicked out of it when you pick it up.
