I used the GM splash guards and you don't have to remove any trim. You just have to take off the factory ones then pop the new guards on with the snaps and one bolt at the bottom. They are extremely easy to put on and really help with the rocks.
With the sticky compound of these tires I would highly recommend them! Easy install and doesn't look like an ugly aftermarket mod. I've actually seen rocks skip across my hood during shape turns at low speeds on streets that had loose pebbles. For those with OCD.....that will grab your attention. That will make you a believer in splash guards for the sides of the car on everyday driving. You'll be happy with them. Ordered mine and sent to the Museum to have installed on the car before I hit the road last March.
I'll probably put them on mine but my buddy has them on his 14 and from what I've seen they provide pretty minimal protection. They need to protrude a little more but then they might not look to good and would definitely slow the car down.
I'm planning on a Suntek job to do the real protection.

I put XPEL on the entire car except the rear bumper & hatch deck lid and although I'd like the splash guards to be a bit wider (but not take away from the lines of the car) I would still highly recommend the aftermarket guards.
