They indeed did away with the word "Detour." The infotainment manual cleverly hides the information you want under the heading of "Turn List." Right where anyone would intuitively look for it, eh? It's on page 47.
To detour around slow highway traffic, bring up the turn list by pressing the "next turn" icon in your map display. Press the "Avoid" menu item at the bottom of the screen and it will let you select the highway to be avoided, and for how many miles (or entirely). I am not sure if this only works on highways... I haven't tried it on a blocked surface street.
This is not dependent on any active traffic monitoring systems. It is entirely based on the built-in map and route guidance.
Let's say you're traveling on I-XXX using the navigation system as you go from Oklahoma City to Pensacola, Florida, and suddenly traffic stops and you sit... and move forward a car length at a time... and you've been "trapped" for almost an hour now... and you want to take a detour.
Is there a detour function in the Navigation unit? I have been unable to locate one - surely they did not forget the function - or perhaps they're calling it something else...
Any help appreciated....
I used my cellphone( along with my small laptop ) with Google Maps and did not use my NAV on my car since I was spending my time mostly on other features until I got home !!! Wayne
