a little confused with your post but I will take a shot at it...the cup holders in C6/C7 are not even close to being pratical ...way to big and not tall enough, What I did was found a foam drink coozie (used to keep cans of beverage cold) it fits in there real tight. That adds height and lot's more stability to your drink. At first it is tough to get the can/bottle in/out but after a while it slips in and out and it is safe,,,hope this helps

you got it and that dame divider sucks big time. They just can't seem to get it the first time. It's such a trivial irratant that it just P--ss me off. I nailed it the other day and wasn't thinking and the cup and coffee wound up in the trunk area and spilled it all there. At least it missed the console.
In comparison with the cup/drink holders in the C-2, the drink holders in the C-7 are a marvelous improvement! In case you don't remember the C-2, apparently it was built before coffee had been discovered. (There were NO DRINK HOLDERS IN THE C-2!) I am familiar with the C-2, because I'm still driving one, although now I spend more time in my C-7.

My '64 has cup holders...I bet your C2 has them also. They are completely useless unless you are sitting still.
The C7 cup holders are much better than any before, in my opinion.
There is a single or double cup hold that slips between your carpet and transmission holder that works really well. I had one in my C6 and I understand I can use the same one in my C7. I forget the name of the holder, but I think a couple of the venders here sell them. If I remember correctly, I spent somewhere around $45.00 for the double model. Anyone remember what these things are called?
The aftermarket unit that slips into the footwell area (vertically along the driver/passenger divider) is called the Travel Buddy. It indeed comes in single or double unit models and is sold by most of the Corvette parts vendors. It's a simple plastic unit that slides in and out by friction, holds drinks securely, and is easy to remove. But it tightens up the free space for the passenger's leg a bit.
The other option is the Drink Docker (sold at drinkdocker.com). The small size fits in the existing cup holder and holds smaller cups and bottles securely in place in its stretch foam. It is not a perfect fit, but good enough to do the job (it pushes against the raised cup compartment lid, and you have to remove it completely if you want to close the lid when not holding a drink).
Sorry Jagamajagaran, I totally forgot all about them. As I recall, the principal use of them seemed to be letting an unsuspecting female set two drinks on them while you were parked at a DRIVE IN movie. Then forgetting that they were there, and spilling both drinks in her lap. "Oops!"

EVERYTHING ABOUT THE C7 IS IMPROVED. The real question is: why can't GM make as much improvement in the cup holder as they have in the infotainment system, the differential, the frame and most every other part of the car.
Being "better than the C2" really isn't much of a compliment. Just sayin'....

I have a Travel Buddy in my C4 and it's great! But my wife doesn't like it because it takes up her legroom. Does anyone know if it will actually fit into the C7?
Is there any available insert to make that damn thing work. This has been going on since my 2000 C5.
I developed a solution soon after I got the C7 in October 2013. I always travel with water and for my C6 used a device called a Travel Buddy that fit on the passenger side. However the passenger grab handle makes it less accessible and convenient in the C7. Thought I had solved the issue with the right shaped bottle and some felt pads. That was until I had to make a very fast stop. Water all over! Found the problem was the cup insert tilted causing the bottle to tilt forward. Solved the problem by gluing the insert to the bottom! It has held a bottle full of water 1+ “g” stops and 1 “g” lateral acceleration! It has worked for a year.
Not as easy to do as I sounds and you do give up the ability to remove the insert, but it works. Here is a 5 page PDF with pics of what I did and what I tried that did not work: http://netwelding.com/Improved_Cup_Holder.pdf

There was a thread a week or so ago that showed some fixes to the cup issue.
I personally find that using a small micro fiber towel (12"X12") to line the cup holder to hold most drinks securely. Added benefit of having something handy to wipe up a spill if necessary. Also absorbs any condensation for cup which may otherwise wind up in the bottom of the cup holder.

Both single and double will fit. This was from my C7. Painted it black.
The easily installed single or double cup holders are available from CorvetteMods.
I purchased the single:
