It's interesting that you mention operating the PDR to get rid of the GPS Red X! I had my C7 to the dealer today (came off the line 8/13/14 - vin 399) to have them fix the NAV because of the GPS Red X. The Tech used foil to insulate all the wiring behind the mirror going to the PDR and the NAV. When I started the car at the dealer after the work was done I started a recording on the PDR just to make sure it worked. Then I turned on the NAV and set my home destination. The Red X came on for about 15 seconds and then went off. It never came back on for the 20 mile ride home. A couple of hours later I went for a ride and the Red X came and went sporadically. Tomorrow I will try operating the PDR for a couple of minutes before driving it to see if the NAV works properly afterwards.
2015 Vert delivered 5 Sep.14. Initially no problem; then battery went dead and after new battery was installed GPS red X showed up and PDR says: NO SD card inserted (although it is inserted (and was reinserted several times) in Glove box where it is supposed to be). PDR worked fine before battery failure. Dealer just received the required repair parts from 3M/Kent and we will take car in Monday to be fixed. NOT sure whether red X GPS fix will also cure PDR problem . Will keep you posted.
Update: Red X GPS problem fixed at my dealer. PDR "No Sd card inserted" issue was a faulty/burned up SD card which occurred after faulty battery replacement in '15 vette. Working fine with newly purchased SD card.
2015 Convertible, Nav and PDR, built Nov 20, picked up at dealer Nov 28. Never had the Red-X show up (unless parked under a structure, then it goes out within 10 seconds of exiting the structure).

Reason: spelling trouble :)
I took delivery of mine a week ago, and I have the red X. However, OnStar is not working as well, and the dealer says it is a faulty piece of Onstar hardware, not the interferring wires.

Was the car just built, or did you buy one that had been built earlier?
Mine was built on 11-20-2014 and delivered to my dealer on 12-08. So it was not sitting On the lot. I agree, it shouldn't be a big deal however they want replace my onstar module first because my onstar is also not working. I'm not sure that is the fix, because my nav is showing me out in the Pacific Ocean.

I'd like to hear from some of them (very recent builds) as to what they have encountered with this problem if anything.

This is exactly what's happened with mine and you can see my build date above. I'm also waiting for an OnStar module to be delivered and it is on national back order. I have never been able to use the nav or OnStar since I have taken delivery. With the national back order the free subscription will have probably expire.

As a follow up, I am still getting a sporadic GPS red X after the dealer tech followed the bulletin. However, I experimented with it today and if I record anything, even for 10 seconds, on the PDR then the NAV works and I do not get a red X in the NAV. So, the PDR definitely has something to do with the GPS signal. I had another appointment for tomorrow for the issue but I cancelled it until I can do a little more research on how the two systems interface.
I have a C6 with NAV. It has always worked fine, but today I drove it into the garage and left it running for over a minute. Could not get the Red X to come up despite the fact that the car could not "see" the satellites. Wonder what that is about, and why it worked then.
I guess my next step is to turn the car/NAV on in the garage and see if it works then, because I suspect the NAV continued to work before because it knew its last position before I pulled under the roof.
My 2015 Z51 with NAV/PDR was built on 20 Nov 14 as was Hdwidelide and Paul R. I have the Red X issue and took it to the dealer (Stingray Chevy, Plant City, FL – Great folks) and had the basic wire wrap done, however it was not 100% successful and they are ordering a module replacement, which as others have stated is on national backorder. So Chevy was still pumping out cars with the Red X issue in late Nov 14, a sad commentary to say the least. I have no idea how long the modules will be on back order but one would think that Chevy Customer Service would be able to get one sent to the dealers to fix a problem that they were aware of yet still sent cars out for delivery to clients with known deficiencies.

Harlan, who I'm told by keeks2915 on another thread (about the NAV problem) is the big sales/marketing wiz honcho at Corvette, said this problem was fixed at the factory already. Apparently, Harlan is wrong, and keeks2915 may have got some bad info. Either that or the problem was just fixed. I'd really wonder how Harlan could be so far off. Maybe he ought to come on the Forum and defend himself.
I absolutely refuse to order a new C7 until GM fixes this issue. I'll "suffer" with my C6 until that happens.
Does anyone have a C7 built in Dec with that issue still out there?
Watched mine get built Dec 18th/19th, meant to ask, but got lost in the fun and forgot, sorry about that.
We need to find someone doing the buyers tour to ask the workers at that station when/if they changed their installation procedure. Just have to ask your guide thwts something you want to get done.

No red x issues for me, so far.
Thanks for the update. Some C7s never had a Red X issue, but many did. It sound like an easy fix, if the factory has done it. Praying that they have fixed the problem at the source, once and for all.
