Can someone tell me if ALL C7s with Nav and PDR have the Red X issue? Has GM at some point started to correct the issue at the plant? Does someone who has taken delivery of a newly manufactured car with the above features not have the issue?
Mine, a LT3, delivered 12/2/14 only shows the red X upon initial turn on in my garage. As soon as I back it out the X goes away. Never have seen it on the road.
Hummm. Did anyone notice LB001's question sounds eerily similar to Dracla's questions about the exact same subject? Me thinks Clark Kent just might be Superman. Naaaaa, probably my imagination. In any case...
Assuming the Nav Fix has trickled down to GM's assembly line, owners responding to your question could have bought a '15 C7 that had been sitting on the lot for awhile and not undergone the factory assembly line Nav fix, OR their C7 may have just rolled off the delivery truck and had the mod done. You may want to edit your OP post and add, "... and when was your C7 built?"
By the way, in case you haven't seen my previous comment on the subject, my '15 was infected with the Red-X Nav itch from mile #6 and was cured very quickly by my dealer during its first oil change. No biggie.
Mine was built on 11-20-2014 and delivered to my dealer on 12-08. So it was not sitting On the lot. I agree, it shouldn't be a big deal however they want replace my onstar module first because my onstar is also not working. I'm not sure that is the fix, because my nav is showing me out in the Pacific Ocean.

2015 Vert delivered 5 Sep.14. Initially no problem; then battery went dead and after new battery was installed GPS red X showed up and PDR says: NO SD card inserted (although it is inserted (and was reinserted several times) in Glove box where it is supposed to be). PDR worked fine before battery failure. Dealer just received the required repair parts from 3M/Kent and we will take car in Monday to be fixed. NOT sure whether red X GPS fix will also cure PDR problem . Will keep you posted.

Alright, you caught me. Now I have to create a new secret identity.
I did inquire about NEWLY manufactured cars, to see if the factory might have started the fix.

I have been assured that the Red X problem on the NAV has been very recently fixed at the factory (Oct, Nov?). There are some dealers who can make adjustments in the NAV if you have a Red X problem from a C7 built earlier.
What might be interesting is if very recently built C7s (built in Nov or Dec) say that the factory has done its job well, and there is no Red X problem any more.
Mine has this, and the dealer in going to fix it (they say, several threads). GM did NOT want to send the dealer the fix, wouldn't even admit the issue exists, even when I supplied the bulletin. Gm eventually admitted they were wrong and send the fix instructions to the dealer.
Interesting to note, if you have this problem, start a PDR recording for a minute or two, then stop recording. Go to the NAV, wait 30secs or so, PRESTO! Red X disappears and GPS updates the location. So far it's worked every time.
