C7 Automatic Shift Boot
I had my car in the dealership Service Dept last week to have my drivers seat leather replaced because the side bolster was tearing. I asked them to change out the shift boot and they said no problem for $100. When I picked the car up the service advisor told me they didn't do it because the service tech said it couldn't be done.
I'm sure it can be done and would like to hear back from anyone who has replaced their stock shifter boot and what it requires.

Very curious.............. can the top silver **** be replaced without taking apart the whole boot?

Punch in DSVettes on your search engine. They sell shift boots, and all kinds of leather stuff. They also include installation instructions, (although it looks like they are for a C-6 Vette). It might be of some help.
