Nice thing about windshields is that they are easy to fix. Safelite does good work and they are there when you need them. I know that it hurt when the rock hit the glass ( or coke bottle from the kids in the bus ), the first ones always is the worst.
Happy for you that the outcome was good.
Glad you got it fixed. I have a scare story about changing windshields... there's a large cable running up the A pillar on the passenger side that serves all the electronics above the windshield. The glass tech cut it as he was removing the glue. Over $2k labor plus parts. Anyone getting the windshield replaced should inform the tech before he puts a knife to it. Remember, most glass techs have never replaced a windshield in a C7, or any Vette for that matter.
Make sure you put the targa top back on & locked down BEFORE they place the windshield on safe lite had to redo mine twice because they werent pushing it down close enough to the frame & it'll leak across the top & run down the inside of the a pillar & on to wiring down at the kick panel!!!
Less than 500 miles and it also happened to me. Went to Safelite and they had no clue what was required to remove the windshield. They never did a C7 before. Matter of fact, they wanted to use my car as training for their staff. Called my dealer and he recommended their guy. Called him up and needless to say, he did a great job. Took his time and had no problem with me watching from time to time. Only issue he had was removing the mirror. He called the dealer and they had no clue, he finally figured it out and took it off. Very neat, no damage and looks great.

My top was off during the entire process. Did not want the installer to scratch it. The windshield has small pegs that go into the frame for a tight and secure fit. All the parts just snapped into place.

Safelite used a thin wire system to pull around the windshield to cut the adhesive when they did my ZR1.
