Default Corvette to Share Same Design Cues as New Malibu

We're all for Chevy sprucing up the rest of their line-up with hotter designs all the way around, but after dishing out $60,000 or more for a C7, do you really want to pull up to a light and see a $23,000 sedan that looks like your sports car?

Doesn't really bother me in the least. To the extent GM can make a 5-passenger, 4-door, mid-size sedan look like a the 2-passenger, 49-inch-tall Vette, good for them. I don't think anyone will mistake one for the other.

Quite a fraudulent title don't you think? BTW, that's a 2013 Malibu.

The current-generation Malibu has been a major failure for GM, and is inferior to its competition as well as the model it replaced. The back seat is basically unusable for a family sedan. This dash design is dreadful. Who signed off on this car??

On the bright side, if you need a DD and never haul anyone over 3 feet tall in the back seat, you can get mega discounts on these cars. But the depreciation will be brutal. The Malibu is such a stink bomb that GM is rushing a complete re-do.

I do not think the two will ever look the same, a Corvette is one of a kind world class Sportscar made by GM. How could you ever confuse the two or think they will look similar.

I can see it now, new Malibu with carbon flash spoiler and mirrors, black wheels, yellow calipers, a fish on the side, and some clown plastering 'Z51' badges all over it.

I own a '13 2.0 Turbo. It's a darn nice car but no C7. The car itself reminds me of the Pontiac G8 I owned, but with a few less horsepower.

It does have the pedestrian savers on the front like the C7 though.

Not sure where you got that info... The sales for the current generation Malibu have very good. My wife has an 09 3.6 and its a really nice and very reliable car. " DD and never haul anyone over 3 feet tall in the back seat"? I'm 6" and when I sat in the back it have plenty of room to spare. Seems like you're just on some kind of clueless rant. I would agree the previous generation Malibu was ugly.
All that being said the Malibu will never be mistaken for a Corvette..lol

I don't think I would want a soccer mom in her Toyota mini-van pulling up to me in my C7 and asking "is that the new Malibu?"

Sir, it is you who is a bit clueless. Your 2009 Malibu is from the PREVIOUS generation -- it is the car that most others and myself believe is superior. The current generation, which began in model year 2013, is the one I was criticizing. BTW, a V-6 is not even offered.

Being as you are only 6" tall you should have plenty of room in the back seat...but watch out for that first step out of the car, could be tough.
Sorry, I just couldn't help it...all in fun.

Haha.... I was unaware that they came out with another generation since. That was a fast generation run. The 09 has been a great car, no complaints.
