i have family coming down from Canada in March and suggested to the young man that he and I take Yvette to the Texas Hill Country and try the famous " Twisted Sisters". Any comments on what routes to take and what places to stop and enjoy the sights or the food and beverage?
We will be driving a 2014 3LT, Z51 and can't wait!
Where you starting from? There's plenty of places to stay in Kerrville and it's a good starting point. Just take TX 16 south to Medina, FM 337 west through Leakey to Camp Wood. Then take TX 55 north to FM 335 in Barksdale. Follow FM 335 north to TX 41 which you can take east to FM 336. FM 336 goes south back to Leakey. The loop from Leakey around the three sisters and back to Leakey is just about 100 miles of beautiful driving or riding roads. The Apple Store in Medina has a good burger and the Frio Inn in Leakey has good food too. There's a motorcycle museum on FM 187 just north of Vanderpool close to Lost Maples State park. The only caution is there are about 8 cattle guards on FM 336 and the road traverses open range. Slow down they are rough and keep an eye out for cows. Also if you go down on the weekend watch out for pirate parades.

Went on Twisted Sisters last year. Great cruise in a new C7, but beware loose gravel, livestock, and deer. Gravel really did a number on my rocker panels. Google Twisted Sisters or 3 twisted sisters and you'll find lots of info. I enjoyed the food at the Frio Canyon Motorcycle Stop.
Tell me what you like to do and I'll give you some ideas. Food, antique motorcycles, small towns, history, fast twisty roads, scenery, lazy days, cigars, scotch,.... What do you like to do and what pace do you want to maintain?

Food - yes
Antiques - Not so much
Motorcycles - sure
Twisty roads - yep
Scenery - of course
Lazy days - not enough time
Cigars - had to give up years back
Scotch - I need to make up for no cigars somehow!

There are a couple of low water crossing that you have to keep an eye out for.The crossings are dry about 99% of the time. It's the 1% that are the issue. Plus, hit one at the wrong speed and you'll know you screwed up real quick !

Do you have any recommendations for overnight accommodations? I'm thinking about spending 2-3 nights in the hill country so that I will have enough time to thoroughly enjoy the sight seeing. Prefer B&B, but have open mind.

There are plenty of small motels or B&Bs scattered across the area. It's not prime deer season so there should be plenty of vacancies.
You can also head up to Fredericksburg which isn't too far north. Pretty town with good German food and lots of small places to stay. You just want to make sure you don't travel there on their busy weekend. They have a peddlers sale one weekend a month and the place gets packed with tourists. The northern part of the hill country is not as rough as the southern part, but it also has some good roads and pleasant scenery.

Thanks for the info. Weather is forecast to be beautiful in the Hill Country starting tomorrow and lasting for 4-5 days. Looking forward to a fun visit.

I live on Hwy 16 between Helotes & Bandera and would luv to tag along this weekend, but won't be home. You should have a nice weekend for the cruise.
If you're coming in on IH-10, pass through down town then take Hwy1604 west (south) to Hwy 16. The drive from Helotes to Bandera is a pretty nice drive also. Hills & Curves!
I'm anxious for the spring to make the Twisted Sisters loop when the spring flowers are out. Absolutely Beautiful Hill Country!
