So my new Z51 2Lt A8 Competition Adrenaline Red seat, Carbon Painted roof, PDR, red Caliper, Black mirrors, spoiler and emblems an a Crystal Red Stripe (1/22) was made 1/20 and 1/21. I opted to watch my car being built in Bowling Green at the plant. An option available through the NCM. Also had the build photographed. I just wanted to tell everyone about this expirence. I met a guy at the build that knew nothing about being able to watch your car being built that had a new ZO7 delivery done. He was expecting to watch his car being built an only got a VIP tour. I really felt sorry for him. The day started out 1/20 when I was met at the plant with my tour guide David Hastings a retired plant engineer an then a consultant for the plant an now does buyers tours. Dave was over the top amazing. My day started at 11:50a when I first saw the shell of my car. Just an amazing site to see. The process went on things all started to get real when panels were going on and what really made it real for me was when the seats were put in. Wow. The plant workers were just awesome. They would say is this your car, gave me thumbs up, came over talked to me thanked me, on an on. Several times when I was told thank you I would say NO THANK YOU, YOU GUYS ARE GREAT! This just kept going on. The day just progressed and was amazing. We ended at the site of my engine. Very cool to see. Day 2 started at 6:12am with the engine being ID'd watched the engine be married to the chassis and then the chassis engine be married to the car. WOW its real now. Again plant workers continue to talk and everything else. Such a honor. The day progressed and my car was finished at 1:20 pm passed all of her test an went to sit for QC. My stripes were put on 1/22 and I have not yet seen it. My museum delivery is 2/6 at 10am feel free to watch on the NCM website. The reason behind this story. I am 43 this is my 6th Corvette and its shocks me that people do not know what the NCM can do for you. If you dealership does not tell you about the things the NCM offers do some research. Yes you can watch your car being built yes you can have it photographed. There is so much the NCM offers that is not taken advantage of. We all need to support the museum an this is a great way to do it. Shane Webb who does the deliveries is an amazing person to work with. I emailed him so many times I thought is was gonna kill me. But he is so so awesome and loves his job. So with that enjoy the story, do your research enjoy the CORVETTE!! "Enjoy life today because you never know what tomorrow will bring"

Beautiful car--you will LOVE this car!

I agree the NCM experiences are great. When my wife and I got the NCM delivery VIP tour on 10/13/13 there was a guy and his 10-year old son doing the NCM build experience. They looked like they were having an experience that each will remember forever.

From my standpoint, the so-called "acid test" was my wife's reaction to the day. She is not into cars at all and she loved the whole day!

So did I.

Thanks for your post. It was fun to read and brought back lots of very good memories.
