I'm going to Spring Mountain in a few weeks for the 3 day and was curious what I need to bring so how about a checklist on what to bring from those of you who have been there.

I'm going in a few months. Do you need driving shoes?

I going in early April, can't wait!! When I spoke with the folks at Spring Mountain they recommended narrow type sneakers. Driving sneakers were not required nor was a helmet. They will provide unless you have your own & want to bring. I am bringing a pair of racquetball sneaks I have but am sure any type of narrow tennis type sneaker will work. They also mentioned to dress for warm weather with shorts being OK.
I was there in July 2012. I took 3 t-shirts and 2 pairs of shorts(Nike, Under Armor etc). I also took my 2 pair of Piloti driving shoes with some golf type socks. Take comfortable underwear. You'll want a baseball cap, sunglasses, camera(maybe a Go Pro), sun screen and a notebook to enter any thing mentioned in class. I would even suggest recording the class sessions if you can and then enter into a notebook in evening.
Take a sweat shirt for cool evenings or a sweater if you go out to eat.
The condo accommodations were excellent
Try the winery for food or the Country Club which was not bad.
If you wear shorts and depending on your positioning, take along one of those athletic knee wraps. Your left knee will be raw from the door speaker grill and it hurts. Sit in your car with your foot on the dead pedal and see if your knee lines up with it. Have fun!
Polarized sunglass' are about one of the most important things you will need, along with being well rested and hydrated. Comfortable clothes, narrow sneakers. Only two places worth eating are the winery and the steakhouse at the casino. Hibachi place was OK. A knee pad would have been a good idea, wish I had one on day 2. Great course and facility. I felt the program was excellent with the exception of that day 1 was almost a waste of so much valuable time. They should have an extensive entry form to try to group up the correct level drivers. So much time is wasted as they rate everyone and this could have been more seat time. Other than that it is a great program. I understand why, as some guys have no skills ( no judgment, thats why you go) and literally there are people in your class that have never driven at any higher speed. So grouping is very necessary, but they take so much time with it. They are very busy now so on and off track in groups is a pain.
Ron,
Good point on the grouping by skill level, as is done in most training programs! I am guessing these training schools have a process improvement program that addresses these situations. Since these are professionals and the school has been in business for some time I will trust there is a reason for how they teach! I have only driven the 1/4 mile as far as racing, so most of what they teach will be new to me I will trust these professionals and their process!
Thanks to all the great school feedback, as it help those of us that haven't attended before prepare!

Highly suggest either a GoPro camera with mount or a phone mount and Harry's Laptimer app. It's always fun to watch the progression between your first day to your last run.

I agree completely!! I used a gopro but had the Harry's lap timer on my phone. I really wish I had brought a mount for that because between day 2 and 3 there was no doubt you are MUCH faster, and I really had no gauge for improvement other than being told by instructors. Level II uses lap timers.

VatorMan,
Did you use the Petrolhead version or the Rookie version of the app? I'd like to capture the progression as well. If an iPhone, what was your phone mount configuration if I might ask?

I'm going in May and I'm making my list as well.
- thanks
I have petrolhead-but then again I use it on the tracks I go to here. Get the RAM Mount base and this head. Works great !
Thanks for the info. Was this an iPhone? It is attached to the windshield where...maybe to the right of the rearview mirror?
iphone 5S and yes-by the mirror. Harry's Laptimer is very memory intensive, so make sure you have plenty of space. It drains the phone battery pretty fast too so have your car charge cord.
