I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds the 1 to 4 shift a pain but I have to vent. I love my 2014 AW LT2. The handling, power, the attention, the look is awesome. I find the 1 to 4 shift takes so much away from the reason I purchased the car with the manual transmission. I want to shift through the gears, not skip them and bog in 4th. My 2012 Mustang Gt has the same feature but not as sensitive but still a drag. I know about the whole gas milage thing. I get it. But this is a Corvette! I want to feel the gears! I have recently learned about an easy fix to this horrible feature and am planning to remove it but I don't know what Chevy was thinking when they put this on the Vette. Anyway, besides that, I could not love the car more. I hope all are enjoying theirs the same. Be safe!
Skip shift eliminator is easy to deal with. Or just shift around 2600 RPMs.
Not sure if they have changed the spec, but on older T56 stuff I read that skip shift is enabled during part throttle 1-2 shifts after the engine gets to 160 degrees and under 2500 RPM. After awhile you sub consciously shift at over 2500 RPM.
I found that in town traffic I'd hit it a lot, then it would let me into second because my speed would slow so it was just friggen annoying as can be. I don't want to be forced to shift at any particular speed or RMP, shifting should be very natural and not really thought about, it just happens as you are now part of the machine. I put on the CAGS eliminator, best mod for the money you can do to the car IMO.

The skip shift eliminator was the first thing I did to the new C7 once I got it home. I had one on my previous C6 for about 9 years. The first drive in the C7 leaving the dealers parking lot I absent mindly hit the 1-4 shift. That was enough for me!!
Quick question...sorry for a newbie question....but does this 1-4 shift not allow you to actually physically shift into 2nd? I'm only asking because I haven't seen anything about this on the forum until now and on my '14 Z51, in sport mode, I see the message pop up stating "shift to 4 for fuel economy" but I'm still able to shift into 2nd if I want. I'm only asking because I bought my car barely used and I just wonder if maybe the previous owner has already installed one of these "CAGS" or not.

It must have the eliminator installed since you see the light but can still shift to 2nd gear.

Look at the tranny, easy to see if ones there. I had seen the message on the DIC at times and was still able to get it to second after a very brief delay as the cars speed changed. At first I didn't know about this and was always wondering why second was a pest sometimes. I'm not staring at the dash while driving so I really didn't notice the message until I read about it.

I want that! Where can I get a skip shift eliminator. Yes, I drive it every time like I just stole it.

Thanks guys! Yeah I'll check when I get home. I was just on here while at work and saw this and just questioned if maybe I had it! I'm pretty sure it must already be installed because I've never had any problems shifting into 2nd even when the light is on!
Or Just Double Clutch, Once the clutch as been depressed and released once the computer thinks the shift has been made and allow you to shift into 2nd.
