If it's the light saying airbag off, when the seat is empty, or airbag on, when somebody is in the seat, I think that's normal. Both my cars, neither a corvette, do that.
From the Owner's Manual (a really handy book that comes with every C7 that, unfortunately, many new owners don't bother to open or read):
Passenger Sensing System
The vehicle has a passenger sensing system for the front outboard passenger position. The passenger airbag status indicator
will light on the instrument panel when the vehicle is started.
The words ON and OFF, or the symbol for on and off, will be visible during the system check. When the system check is complete, either the word ON or OFF, or the symbol for on or off, will be visible. See Passenger Airbag Status Indicator on page 5-17.

As usual, typical hall monitor answers. The OP is new, posted about the manual, give him a break and go back in your holes.
Um, what? I posted the exact wording from the manual to answer his question while you post a smartass reply that has nothing to do with the OP's question. Who should go back in a hole?

The OP stated he read the manual, he didn't need your quote, he was looking for explanation-smartass.
