Default New C7

I've been lurking in the C7 section for some time, occasionally asking a question or making a comment, and for about six months checking inventories of C7s across the country, hoping for the perfect car to show up at some dealer. To make a long story short, I unexpectedly found a car last week in Covington, LA--only 60 miles away. It was the only Vette they had in stock and the salesman, Tom Harmon, was introduced to me as their "Corvette specialist." Indeed, he was very knowledgeable and not only provided a no-hard-sell approach but patiently worked with me on all aspects of the process. It was one of the best car-buying experiences I've had.

Last week I stepped up my search after finding that C7 Coupes built after 2/2/15 will cost $1000 more, as well as the continually declining trade-in allowances for C6's. The car I selected was a bit over my budget, but I was mesmerized by the 3LT interior and the Flame Red exterior with blacked-out badges and wheels. This thing is really Flamboyant (cap intended). It has A8, NPP, ZF1, EYT (black badges), Q7T (black Z51 wheels). I have not bought an auto tranny car in 44 years, so this is a radical departure from the norm for me. So far I think I like it, but will I miss the bonding experience of manual shifting? Anyone else been there, done that?

Comparing to my C6, my first impressions are a quieter interior, more stable handling, a quantum leap in high-tech features, and to my delight better gas mileage. I'm still trying to negotiate the operation of all these options and features, but am making steady progress. Fortunately, I find the various interfaces fairly ergonomic and I'm slowly comprehending it all, item by item.

Congratulations!!!! Sharp car! Luv the Torch Red and the Adrenalin Red 3LT interior. Great that you found a local, apparently small Corvette dealer with a car you wanted and had a positive experience. Life is full of surprises. Have fun.

Sweet C7! Congrats! Can't believe you aren't more excited though. I damn near did a back flip when I was told I had a TPW of 3-2-15!

I took delivery October 17, 2013 and must say honestly, its everything and more than I expected.

I live in central Texas and we have roads here that people in other parts of the country dream about. I drove Fitzhugh today outside of Dripping Springs and its just a joy to drive in the C7.

Previously, I had a 2005 coupe modified to about 460 rwhp, and the C7 is head and shoulders better in every way.

As you can see, my license plate says "NEW C7"

Many of the cars I looked at were very appealing but were equipped with the glass roof, and the feedback I see are that these do not work well in the Deep South during our extended summer months. Heat issues aside, I don't have a compelling desire to look at the sky while driving, but if I did I don't think it would be worth $1k to me. Most of the cars I see in this area don't have the glass roof.

I'm quite excited, actually, but am also still in a stupor. I started out with a budget, which I stuck to until I saw this car, then lost it and decided to jump at the opportunity. This dealer has a waiting list of five customers who want a Z51, and this car is basically a very loaded-down base car with the Z51 appearance group (wheels, tires, and spoiler). I actually didn't want a Z51, so apparently the sun, moon, and stars were in alignment for this to happen. As Auda Abu Tayi (Anthony Quinn) said in the movie Lawrence of Arabia, "It is written."

I would have said order what you want...but it appears as if you have a new girl that fills the bill. Beautiful car, enjoy it in good health. And, don't forget to wave.
