Default Only a scratch, luckily!!!

I ran over a 10 foot x 6 inch piece of jagged metal today on the highway.

It was a stretch of highway with a constant radius turn (partially blind turn) so the debris came up quick with little time to react. The black Lamborghini Aventador directly in front of me looked to have gotten the worst of it. He dropped from 70 mph to 40 mph instantly and so did I. The SUV behind me nearly rear-ended me.

Honestly, if I had not been gazing at the beautiful rear end of the Aventador I may have reacted a split second quicker and looked to the other lane to see if it was open.

Luckily, only damage to my C7 was about a 3/4 inch long x 1/16 inch wide scratch on the front driver side fender just in front of the wheel, down in the corner near the lower air deflector. It is deep enough to have removed some paint. Need to fix it.

Has anyone used the Touch-up Paint Pens? If so, any feedback?

I ran over what looked like an alternator bracket on RT 80 a few years ago with my C6. It banged up under the engine and tore the oil filter off, oil everywhere.

Glad it wasn't anything more serious. Best of luck getting the scratch touched up.

Where did this happen? In or around Chandler? I'm in Gilbert.

I live in Chandler, but it was on 101 North just south of Shea Blvd exit.

I've been trying to avoid that stretch of road since my windshield had to be replaced from a rock that flew up on the 101 North just south of Shea a couple of months ago. All that road construction adding the new lanes has caused all sorts of issues for cars driving through there.

I hear you. That was the last time I drive in the HOV lane on that stretch. As you go through the bend in the road between 90th St exit and Shea exit the center divider between Northbound and Southbound makes it a partially blind bend. You can only see 50 yards or so ahead. I've always kept a safe distance to the car in front of me especially on that bend, but the other day proved even that isn't enough.

I've seen another Torch Red on the road around Chandler/Gilbert a couple times, maybe that was you.

Wonder what the Lambo owner is posting in his forum right about now. I bet there are some pretty choice words.
