The Nascars I just looked up all run the Z51 or Z06 style spoilers as I thought.

Sure if they are aggressive enough. It looks like Tadge missed the memo on that one for the Z06. LOL.

All NASCAR Cup cars have identical spoilers by rule. They don't have a choice. Any comparison between a NASCAR car that runs 200 mph and a C7 with Z51 option is apples/oranges. I raced my C6 extensively at speeds up to 170 so I know a bit about aerodynamics and downforce, which has to do with a whole lot more than just the spoiler.

I have yet to see any independent test results of downforce from the Z51 spoiler and the wing spoiler on the same car, so I can't really comment on which provides more downforce. The Z51 spoiler will produce more drag, which is not always a good thing when racing unless you have essentially unlimited horsepower to overcome that drag.

When I decided on a convertible for my C7 I knew it would never be raced, so I opted for the wing spoiler for looks.

Deal. You guys have sold me. Thanks for the photos. Will be ordering the wing spoiler and spending my tax return cash! My plan was to live with my car plain as can be for a while and then see what I want to add, versus adding all types of stuff from the get go. Feel this well be a solid mod I won't get tired of. Also putting in the Z06 grill and brake duct. Now, to keep the base rims or swap for something else..

Last question re: wing spoiler. Do you think 3M double side tape would hold long term? On my old Acura RSX, I used 3M tape and spoiler stayed put till the day I sold it

Does not use tape… Bolts on with seven bolts, I believe...i would not tape it. The rear cap comes off and you attach it.

I wish my z51 had the wing spoiler!

It looks much better than mine.

It's not like I track the VERT, anyway.

Is it possible to swap a Z51 spoiler out for the wing spoiler?

Wing looks good.

Not my cup of tea as I prefer the z51 style.

Wish I knew that you CANNOT retro a WING from a Z51...always loved that look

I love the blade spoiler on my cyber gray vert lots more than the solid spoiler
