Default Wing Spoiler ??

Can't seem to find many photos showing the OEM Wing Spoiler. Specifically looking for a side profile shot and front view. After driving my CG coupe with no spoiler for a season, I'm getting the itch to add some spice to it!

Glen E has one - he'll post a pic soon. It looks nice - a bit different than the Z51 but a nice addition. I've seen a side profile pic of his so I know he has one.

I for one love the blade spoiler, though I like it better on the coupe then on the convertible...

Glen's is probably the only one Ive seen, looking through his build thread. Really trying to find a straight on side view of the entire car. That's the one angle where I don't like my plain coupe without any spoiler. Basically when the car is parked, and you're walking straight towards the driver door.

Decisions ... get the Z51 Blade or get the High Wing???? Car is Cyber Gray like Glen's

Never mind the red stripe, a test fit. I bought the wing and the z51 blade and taped them on for looks, in person. I kept the wing. The z51 blade blocks too much of the "shoulders" of the car from the rear.

Thanks Glen. Looks good!

Which body color spoiler do you guys think looks more integrated with car and less of an add on part vibe?

body color most definitely on the wing....but if you are going to do it, I'd do mirrors to match. I don't believe that GM sells the wing in carbon flash, check gmpartsdirect.com.

I think the wing spoiler (like Glen e's) looks much better (and more integrated) than the Z51/ZF1 spoiler. One of the great design features of the C7 is the "boat tail" character of the rear (especially on the coupe). The wing spoiler doesn't hide that like the Z51/ZF1 spoiler does.
The above is MY OPINION, no offense intended to the Z51 crowd!

Here's mine. I thought it looked unfinished without it.

That is the first photo I have seen in awhile with the base spoiler, and I cannot imagine having just that little black piece in the center of the rear bumper!

I agree. I like the spoiler that came on my Z51 since it better fits the more aggressive attitude of the car. I think the wing spoiler fits the base cars very well.

Just wondering what, "aggressive attitude of the car" means.

The Z51 package is intended to be a more track ready car..... Hence the design of the spoiler. You don't see many wing spoilers on track cars since they are for looks and supply very little if any down force. Z06, NASCAR, etc.....

Didn't NASCAR relatively recently go away from a wing spoiler and I don't think it had anything to do with "lack of down force"? And I'd love to see where GM says they are for ''looks".

The vast majority of Z51 optioned cars will never see a high speed track where a spoiler does any good at all.

Any spoiler is for looks until you're well north of 100 mph. At legal road speeds there is no performance advantage to any spoiler.

Understood..... That is why I said the z51 package is angled toward track application. Their all for looks at street legal speeds. Shoot me a picture of a factory Z06 with the wing spoiler. I guess I missed that one. For the record I won't track my car either so it is a mute point. I simply stated why race cars utilize a version of the z51 spoiler over the wing type. Do you disagree?
