I had one I used for the C6. I really wasn't all that impressed as it didn't save much (if any) time over using a microfiber towel. I also ended up blowing water into the tail light housing - not good. Was better suited for my motorcycles with all the nooks and crannies.

I completely agree and didn't find any time savings either. I actually found it took longer than more conventional methods. I do like being able to blow the water out around the lugs and brake area, but wouldn't spend the money on another one.
Isn't faster, I agree but if your car's black like mine, time is secondary to the benefits of touch free drying that gets all the water out. I also have a CR Spotless deionized water system.
I was miffed when the microfiber detail towels I love for my marina blue 67 C2 and my Azurro California Blue Carrera left lint on my black Z51. Just another day in the life of owning a black car
For me nothing beats a korean waffle weave drying towel. One 24 x 30" towel does the whole car. I do use a leaf blower on the wheels, with their nooks and crannies, then dry with the towel...
I find the Master Blaster does save me time over drying by hand. I have a system and can move very quickly from the top down. I don't persoanlly like the leaf blower idea as there is no filter and shooting small items at my paint at high speed is not ideal.
I also have found that anything that touches a black car has the potential to scratch. Not touching my paint when drying is my preferred method to dry. YMMV
Leaf blower to get the bulk of the water off the surfaces and out of the door jams, hood and truck seals and wheels then waffle weave microfiber as a final wipe. Been doing it that way for as long as I can remember.

True-I didn't want to get into the merits or demerits of leaf blowers and I won't use a leaf blower either for the reasons you gave. I like my master blaster and have conveniently forgotten the price. Wish the front wheels swiveled but I've gotten used to carrying it in one hand with the hose in the other.

I agree. Been using Master Blaster for years. Gets the water out of side mirrors, less rusting on rotors/calipers, even around and under moldings and rubber seals. Love that spotfree drying.
I currently have the mini Master Blaster sidekick and think it's great for taking the bulk water off the car and drying the wheels and crevices (lights, mirrors, etc). If I do it right, I can usually get away with just one waffle weave towel to dry the car after using it. Compared to 2-3 towels needed if I don't blow the car first. ... couldn't help it... my serious question is, does anyone have experience with both the sidekick and the real deal? With the big Master Blaster, will there still be some water residue on the paint that will require towel drying? Or can you 100% dry the car with it?
Time to dry is about the same a little quicker with the "Blaster". The huge benefit is not dragging a towel across the surface and removing a little of the wax and or causing swirl marks, and all of the other benefits already listed.

Yes, the Master Blaster does work very well on the wheels!
Used it a few times to include blowing out the garage. Sure beats sweeping out the garage!!
That's a good deal. I've never seen them under $300. I just use one of cheap small ones from Chemical Guys to blow the water out of the difficult water collecting areas and use a towel for the bulk of the car. It's amazing how much water the C7 likes to hide especially in the rear end.
I like this idea, with that length of hose does the air lose velocity, vs. a let's say, 6' hose? Just curious.
I have this identical setup and I imagine if there was a loss in velocity it would be miniscule and you would never be able to tell! They aren't cheap but I have used it for several jobs besides blowing water off the car and especially drying the wheels!
