Default Best Floor Jack

Has anyone here used the Arcan XL2T floor jack on your Z or other Vette?
I think it has very low clearance and at 100 lbs. it seems pretty sturdy-- and heavy. Any opinions on this jack or recommendations for a low clearance jack?
Thanks in advance.

Here's a suggestion, I am sure other members will provide their thoughts.

I bought the following floor jack at Harbor Freight. It is low profile, and long or extended. Works great with the jacking pucks that so many aftermarket vendors are selling for the C7. I have the pucks and makes finding the jacking area very easy.

Great price also, and has great reviews.

I use two inexpensive low profile jacks from Harbor Freight to raise the sides with 2 inch high jack pads (need those to clear my carbon fiber side skirts.) The I use a larger Harbor Fright jack with a cross brace I made from a 2X6. The cross brace is needed to jack at the GM preferred jacking points on front and rear cross menbers Particularly with the thin hollow C7 cross members I would not jack-up the car in the center. Need to jack the car from the sides to get clearance for the larger jack and cross brace.

These are the Jacking Points specified for the C7 with measurements I made for the cross brace I made.

Two Jacks with 2 inch high Jack Pads on sides to make room for large jack and cross brace.

Measurements for C7 Jack Points for Cross Brace Pads

The best floor jack is one that is NOT made in China. Find a used Lincoln (when they were made in the USA.) They're available for about $50.00. They last forever and three pumps brings the car up off the floor.

Why buy a $70K car and then try to save money buy buying cheap, poor quality Chinese tools?

well I'm picking one up tomorrow..... I looked at the XL35 which is a 3 1/2 ton but it doesn't have as far of a reach.....and I like to be able to reach all the way under the car if possible.

Harbor Freight had the 3 ton version of this on sale last week. Picked one up then - great, low profile jack.

the Arcan XL2T looks IDENTICAL like the harbor freight 68050 except the HF has a foot pedal. Any way to see if they are made by same manufacturer under different names? The stp one above looks identical too for that matter. WTF?

AC Hydraulics jacks are the best quality I have seen... I don't think I would ever buy a jack from Harbour Freight.

$550 for a floor jack. Unless it comes with an electric d__k massager, no thanks.

I'll spend $60 on a jack an $40 on jack stands.

Save the other $450 for H&B.

The Harbor Freight 68050 is a long extended jack.

You can find the 68050 on sale at Harbor Freight for about $119.00 to $129.00...a great value. Read the reviews by consumers that have purchased this floor jack.

If you own a Corvette C7, the GM OEM wheels are made in China. Just because tools and other products are made in China, does not make them inferior in quality. In addition to the Corvette C7 wheels that comes on the C7, I am sure other parts within the C7 are made in China.

Yes, it appears they are made in the same place. They are identical in style and function.

I agree with this, I also use the DK13. You only need one jack, and you don't have to raise the car to get the jack under it. No need for wood blocks or anything similar. Just push the jack under the car, line the lifting pad with a jacking point, makes it much easier. You can go straight to the front or rear cradle, and my car is lowered 3/4". it is a great jack for anyone with a sports car.

I have a DK20Q, and am glad I bought it when they were available.

I'll be looking at the Pelican site soon.

Would love to be able to reach the F/R cradles from front and rear of car to make jacking and placement of jackstands at puck locations so easy!
