It will stay in v4-v8 mode in all the settings from weather to track.. on the A8.. Put it in manual mode and it will stay in V8 all the time...
but u will have to shift manually on the way up, it will shift down for u on decel, but not up... When cruising, I always slip it in manual mode so all 8 cylinders are working... There is very limited savings in mpg with the v4... Don't really know what GM was thinking when they did that.. The car already gets 30mpg on the hwy without that feature. Good choice for a Prius though..
