Why do people think simply because they have had XXX trouble free miles, problems don't exist? Not everyone's experiences are the same.

Yup, them there Mercedes are a POS. My 1999 has only been in shop one time since new(for any problem) and that was for a defective battery and the battery was replaced under warranty.

One day in the shop for all those horrible "electrical problems" in over 6,000 days of ownership, since new. I better dump that car. It's a POS.

Now ask me about the "perfect" new 1998 Corvette I had that racked up 14 visits to the dealer during the first 14,000 miles of ownership for various electrical problems.

look at the list below and tell me how Mercedes compares to Chevrolet.

I don't if this has been said by someone above. But, if its going to be
a Lemon you know right away. Not saying yours is. I had an 02 Z that should have had Yellow paint. Problems rights out of the box. I missed the Lemon Law by a few days. It had problems the day I traded it. Just my experience.

I had similar issues in 1998 with a C5 that I bought new. It spent more time at the dealership than with me. Never the same thing, just a lot of little things.
After 6 months of ownership I did what you are thinking about. My dealer was great and gave me the entire purchase price back on the purchase of a new C5.
I know that I felt very uncomfortable with the car and it was a relief getting rid of it.

I purchased in Oct. 2014. I do not have the vin # info handy, I am out of town.

I am considering trading it in and letting them deal with it…..

Again the dealership has been outstanding and offering numerous apologies. It all seems to be manufacturer related.

Whats the build date on the drivers door tag?

I agree with the warranty being important. Traded my 2013 viper for a S550 (now have 2 mercedes in the garage). After 3 vipers in a row, 2 hernias ended my sports car era. Got 6years factory (not 3rd party) full warranty from Mercedes.

Got a call from the dealership yesterday inviting me to a cooked luncheon this saturday for their owners' clinic. Chance to meet their service department and learn more about the car. The S does have way more electrical stuff. Don't know if that means more issues down the road, but not at all concerned. If car needs servicing (more than oil change), they will pick it up and leave me another mercedes to drive.

I took mine in for the same problem. The tech said GM issued a technical bulletin for this problem.

I had a 1999 MB E430. Mine was far from reliable. And when it did go to the shop the cost of repairs was insane. I had to have the ignition switch changed, the key would go in but not be able to turn the ignition, $1,300. While the engine and the tranny on that car probably would go 500,000 miles the cost to keep the rest of the car going would kill you. Don't even get me started on electrical, light bulbs on that car would go out weekly all over the car, every night I'd have the kids tell me which bulb is out tonight. When I told the dealer about it he said, yeah they go like popcorn on these cars.

Our ML350 was a total POS. Loved the M3 but it sure was costly.
