Those with trans gauges on Z51 M7s, what are they running?

Do the new M7s use 90 wt gear oil or Dexron III/IV? I know that in my c5 I switched from Dex III to Royal Purple Synchromax and it took longer to warm up for smooth shifting. I would think gear oil would not be as affected by heat. At the time I was told that ATF was used so that cold shifting would be more acceptable in northern states.

I would think any heat building would be transmitted from the differential (which is directly behind trans).
If you don't see it scrolling thru the pocket gauge options, guess you don't have it!
Trans uses GM part Number, 88861800, not in the Owner’s Manual, it was in the Service Manual. Found this old comment from GM: "Dexron III is being phased out as a product name. It is being renamed Manual Transmission Fluid and carries p/n 88861800."
In normal driving, churning thru the gears thrashing a bit, in a hot summer day gets to 150/160 F, or a bit higher. Summer, what is that?-Hoping.

Uses Dexron ATF fluid. Just changed mine. Very easy to do.

I don't need it, but I was mostly curious... I don't need a temp gauge for oil or pressure either. just warn me if it's out of specs. it's just good info to have.

The Owner’s Manual does not say the options for pocket gauges are dependent on being a Z51 or non Z51. They list these options: Oil Pressure Gauge, Oil Temperature Gauge, Battery Voltage, Transmission Fluid Temperature Gauge, or a blank gauge. Have you looked at the list of pocket gauges when you scroll? Is Transmission Temp NOT on the list? Since they probably have the temperature gauge option for an automatic non Z51 and the M7 transmission case is the same for Z51's and non Z51, would think there is a temp sender and therefore a gauge for non Z51 M7’s is available.
What does your list of optional pocket gauges show??

The Trans Temp is not a pocket gauge on my 2015 Z51. It is in the center of the DIC. Sorry for the crappy cell phone photo.

It's all there.

There's no difference in the pocket gauges between Z51 and non-Z51 vehicles.

You just need to carefully read the manual and find them.

My goodness... It's not there brother. If you own a M7 C7, I guarantee you it's not a base...

Here, I made a video for you and everyone else to see...

Interesting. Should have said my Z51 was in Sport when i discussed what I had done when I set my M7 left pocket gauge to Trans Temp. Wonder if it makes a difference? My car is always in Sport.
