I stopped by a local dealership to test drive a Stingray 7 speed. The car was on the showroom floor and I decided since it started to rain to forego the drive.
However, in discussing the PTMS availability the sales manager said it was available on the base model. I thought it was only available on the Z51 with MRC. He also said the Z51 had a special oil pan but didn't know if it had dry sump.
The Corvette sales person sat mute--good call I imagine.
At any rate, am I correct about the availability of the PTSM/

Wow. At least make sure they understand allocation before you put down a deposit. Better yet, go somewhere else.
actually sitting in a different dealership waiting for them to pull around a Z51 7speed for me to test drive. I will report back in later.
I sure have the luck. The salesperson had to move several cars to get to the vehicle. I actually had to maneuver it around vehicles to drive it. Now my luck: could not get the dashboard to illuminate. No one at the dealership could figure it out. Did not know how much gas was in it. Therefore, drove it near the dealership for about five minutes.
The little bit I drove it makes me want one very bad.
Where is the magic button to illuminate the instrument panel?

Mine does this. Try pulling and replacing fuse #25 under the hood.
I HAVE to add my $0.02 to this one. I have a '15 Z51 coupe with 7 speed & MRC. Love the car.
My dash will go black if I enter the car in the following manner: With the car locked, 1. Open the rear hatch with the button above the license plate, 2. Walk around and open the driver side door, 3. Walk back and close the hatch, 4. Get in the car and start the engine - The dash will not illuminate as you mentioned above. If I walk away and let the car sit for 5 minutes and enter the car through the driver door without opening the hatch everything usually works just fine!!! (#25 fuse has not blown or the dash would not illuminate. Am I correct?) The dealer has replaced the instrument cluster without remedying the problem.
GM Tech is "Working" on this in Detroit and wants to see the car at the dealership when I take it out of storage in a couple of weeks. I will mention the # 25 fuse to them anyway, but we think mine is a software issue.
Send me an e-mail if you want any further info on my issue with this.

You guys know the doctor doctor routine, right?
Seriously, I might have to try that just to see what happens.
The folks at GM wanted me to send a video of my 'problem'. After viewing the video, they were able to duplicate the issue on 2 Corvettes at the Tech Center in Detroit. Now they want me to take it to the dealer and leave it with them - when I take the car out of storage in a couple of weeks so they can 'look' at the car!!! As if they can't fix it on their cars in Detroit and download the fix to the dealer in Columbus. It has to be a software issue.
The car is not going to be left with the dealer for the GM Techs to fiddle with. They have their cars in Detroit to do that with!! Mine will be at the dealer to be FIXED.

Excellent procedural rundown! This should keep some folks around here from thinking they're going crazy (or have a possessed car).

Holy internal combustion engine, Batman! How did you ever figure out that specific sequence of events?
I'd try it on my convertible but with my luck it may break the flux capacitor.
