Ok - I have read the posts regarding dealer allocations and constraints. My question is, will I recieve delivery of my C7 by summer? After reading some of these posts; I am really worried. I placed my order in the beginning of March. My order includes the Z51 package, Volocity Yellow, Magnetic Ride and the painted roof. I am now wondering if I will get it. I put a substantial down payment. I also have a C6, but dont want to drive it as I am trading it in. But whats the sense of not driving it if the C7 wont be here until who knowd when! My dealer is not on the list of top Vette dealers. Any insight would be appreciated.
You won't unless you change your order. Velocity Yellow is at 0%. Both Z51 and the painter roof are also on constraint. So, even if you change the color, unless your dealer gets multiple allocations per cycle, it does not look good.
If it was me I'd just find one at Kerbeck or one of the other big sellers, get a nice discount and have it shipped or go pick it up (no idea where you are located) You may have to settle for something not exact but you can get a car reasonably soon at at a great price. I got mine from Kerbeck, it was on the "coming soon" section and had it about 4 weeks after spotting it.
That sucks that they made you put a large down payment. What number are you on in the production sequence? If it's at 3000 I think you should be able to find out what week it will be made. You can go on Chevy's website under chat with your order number and they can tell you how far along in the process you are. Did you make sure your dealer had an allocation? If not GM may not even know you ordered one yet.
I had to put $1000 down and was told they had two allocations left that month. Had the car in about 7 weeks. Laguna Blue, 1LT, non-Z51, with painted roof, automatic, performance exhaust.

I agree. If you're ordering one get what you want. Even if it's from another dealer.

That was my experience with Kerbeck, too. I picked out pretty much exactly what I wanted on their website. (I wanted painted Z51 5 spoke wheels, settled for chrome, glad I did. Wanted black 3LT, settled for Kalahari 3LT, glad I did.) It was in transit from the factory. I wired them a deposit, arranged my own shipping, and 10 days later the car was delivered to my house.
Thanks - I will check with the GM chat when I get home from work. I put a non-refundable 5k down. Not looking good.
I'm sure it's refundable if they can't get the car you ordered and they aren't going to get the car the way you ordered because Velocity Yellow is not available.
Thanks all. My sales rep is out if the office today; but will be updating me tomorrow. Hoping for some good news.
In my experience I had better communication straight from Chevy chat online. Unless they haven't given you your order/customer number. If you have the number Chevy chat can tell you anything the dealership can tell you - it's some type of central computer.
If you find out the car hasn't been ordered yet like maybe they don't have an allocation for the Z51 package you can always see what one of the forum dealers can offer then go back to your dealer to see about getting your refund back. I can see that it's non-refundable once they are getting the car (after 3000 production code) but if your still at 1100 it's not even scheduled to be made yet so they can cancel the order through Chevy no problem. They may not want to cancel the order since it may mess up future allocations for them if they don't have a waiting list to order but it's also a customer service issue. I agree with Glen go up the chain depending on what you find out.
Once you get your car it will all be worth it. Then you can be the one on here helping other members with ordering issues.

sometimes i think i'm the only one who sees the merit in doing it that way, especially with so many bad experiences folks have just trying to get the thing they ordered!
i've always do my internet searches to find basically what i want and at the price i'm willing to pay. i have never been disappointed.

$1k isn't bad at all. My dealer (Courtesy Chevrolet in San Diego, CA) required a $10k non-refundable deposit. My deposit money was transferred to them on March 28, which I've heard was the last day to allocate for 2015s. However, found out that they have not even submitted my order yet for my 2LT convertible- artic white with kalahari. They claim they will do it this week, but I'm a bit skeptical after reading all the posts here.
If they can't get the order in, I sincerely hope they don't try to hold onto my money until the 2016s arrive, which would be 4-5 months. Am tempted to try to cancel it and just find a dealer that has a similar car in stock, and try to get it with the supplier discount.

The deposit for ordering a Stingray is $1k and its refundable up until you sign the papers.
They cannot take your money if you dont buy anything.

I ordered my Z51, 3LT, crystal red vert off Kerbeck's website. It was" incoming," meaning it was on a truck somewhere between Kentucky and New Jersey, going in the wrong direction. Ten days after I wired Kerbeck a deposit, my C7 was parked in the driveway of my house in La Crescenta, CA.
