Default A8 supercharged

I am contemplating supercharging my A8. I won't go to meth or headers. Just a supercharger and a tune. Can you guys tell me how the car will drive? I'm not looking for blinding speed. How can I expect the car to drive and feel?
Thanks

Off topic but I just don't want to spend the money on a ZO6. Just purchased this car and don't owe anything. Why add a 30K payment?
Oh well anyone know how it will drive and what type of driving experience to expect.

My research tells me: Go with a centrifugal instead of roots. Even though conventional wisdom says roots (z06 style - on top of manifold) they generate more heat soak and cost you gas mileage around town when not using boost. Just look at the Z06 mpg vs base/Z51. The A&A/ECS/Procharger style are easier to install, cheaper, and don't really cause ann loss of MPG if you keep your foot out of it (you won't at first, but eventually).

If I learned anything from the LS7:
I'm waiting to see how the new LT1 holds up over the long run and until warranty runs out.

do you mean turbocharged? supercharged is different from turbo charging. but on the note of the topic, 460 hp is good enough for someone like me but each to their own. if you're going to turbocharge your vette, give some of the local venders on here a pm and they will set ya straight

Hi Mark,
Thank you very much for your kind offer. I'm surprised we don't know each other. Tell me about SMG and your experience. I was planning on using Slowhawk in Bridgewater. I'd be interested in learning about SMG. Can you fill me in in regards to the driving characteristics.
Thanks

To be honest I used Slowhawk for a tune in my 65 Nova with a LS3 engine and drove terrible so I brought my car over to SMG to have him fix it and he could not write to the ECM because Slowhawk locked the ECM! I had to buy another ECM and have SMG fix it. I have done a lot of work with SMG and very knowledgeable guy. Check out his website at smgmotoring.com. He did my Procharger install for me and he used the Diablo tuner it cam with but I only got 485 on the Dyno he has a tune for my car that yielded 565. The car is so much fun to drive and has not lost any drivability either

If you're not looking for blinding speed why do you want a supercharger?

That's what I'm saying, turbos are better but just a bit( ok a lot ) more to setup.

Why even go forced induction? It sounds to me that the OP is most concerned with driveability. If that is true, they he should modify the engine and tune as little as possible. It's not like the car is slow.

I think people are too scared of nitrous for no reason, it's not any harder on an engine or more risky than a blower or turbo (in almost all cases it is safer) and you maintain all the driveabilty of stock while having the power on tap if you so desire.

Now if you want a blower just to say you have a supercharged stingray then that's a different story.

Not all supercharged cars are blindingly fast. I just want it to be fun to drive and leave me with the "wow" feeling ever once in a while.

Call a (reputable) shop OR TWO and ask this: will I smell oil fumes? Will I hear the supercharger at idle? will a bad tune kill my engine, Will my A8 behave the same as it does now, will it run hotter in summer, in Traffic. oh and will I smell oil fumes.
Take the offer or find someone who will take you on a short ride in a car set up like you want to do yours and then you will answer all of the questions in your head.

Soooo why respond to me and not the person who actually brought up turbos? I'll just let other people run amok in your thread. Take care.
