I drove my one month old C7 from NC to the Corvette Museum yesterday. I used the Nav system to provide route directions. While driving the Nav system would lose the GPS signal. It is OK when the car starts up. Then after about 10 minutes I lose the signal and see the GPS indicator in the top right corner with a line through it. After another 10 minutes or so the signal returns. This process repeats continually while I drive. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Do I need to go to a dealer for a repair?
Later this AM I will go to a presentation at the Bash by Talon90 (Paul) on the Nav system. I know that he is an expert on this system. It would be helpful to get some input if others have had this problem. Thanks.

It's been a pretty common problem. I understand it's a simple fix of a coax or wire behind the rear view mirror that get pinched during build process.
I had the same problem and for me it was an easy fix at the dealership that only required them to take apart the mirror and add some tape. You can search "red x" and see a lot of discussions on this.

Algiers, Can you please give me some more information on this. I searched red x and couldn't find any info on the Nav problem. I want as much information before visiting the dealer. Thank you very much. Norm

Here are a couple threads that should explain it a little better. The first one has the service bulletin which should be all the dealer would need. I have had good look with the dealer wire fix but some members have posted that their issue returned. I'm really hoping mine stays fixed.

You got it. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
My GPS problem is not fixed, but I figured out a work-around. As long as I leave the PDR off the GPS works fine. Apparently there is a signal conflict between the two systems. My car is about one month old, so I don't think the previously mentioned PI's will fix this problem.
While at the Museum Bash I spoke to several Corvette engineers. I was told that PI 1380A will eliminate this problem. I am travelling with my DD and won't be able to take the Vette to a dealer for several weeks. Does anyone have an idea what this PI is about? I stopped at Campbell's Chevy in Bowling Green before I knew this PI number. They were going to apply PI 1375C, but stopped when they determined this one did not apply to my problem. Any knowledge on PI 1380A? Is there a way to get a copy of it?
Does anyone else have the problem with NAV-PDR interference? If I turn on the PDR when the NAV is running, I get the Red X on the Nav screen. The Nav regains a signal in about 10 minutes, and then loses it again. This problem recycles until I turn the PDR off. An engineer at the Museum Bash told me that PI 1380A will fix this. I won't be home to take my 1-month old Vette to the dealer to find out for at least two weeks. I was wondering if anyone else is familiar with this. I am reluctant to take the car to the dealer unless I really need to. Thanks.

I am somewhat baffled that this problem with the NAV has not been fixed at the factory after all that has been said about it. Is it really that simple that it can be done quickly at a dealer? Then why doesn't GM do something simple at the factory so the problem would disappear?

I have lived the GPS / Red X.
There is an updated approach to resolving and cars are still coming off the line with issue; there was a brand new Z06 getting worked on two weeks ago when my car went in this last time.
1) Apply outlined insulation tape and separate antennas per the outlined directions, look for kinks or other issues. (GM service bulletin for your dealer to follow. The procedure and extent of insulation tape areas increased from October to March).
2) Apply the new software updates (March update). This is supposed to be quick, however, my dealer has needed anywhere from 2 to 6 hours to get it done across the cars they've done due to download, updating, and validating variability car-to-car.
3) Replace the OnStar component and associated pieces with the Nav.
I have been through the initial insulation tape install October 2014. That worked for a few a little bit but then lost service again when I pulled the car out in the Spring. I have now been through the new insulation tape update, the software update, and finally the replacement OnStar components. It has been working so far since the recent effort, however, it has been less than a month. Will continue to monitor but hopefully this is the final time the car spends a week at the dealer to resolve the GPS issue.

Did you lose your GPS when the PDR was on? Mine is OK until I start a PDR recording. Hopefully the PI I mentioned will fix the compatibility problem. Otherwise I will have to take the route you took.
I lost mine when PDR was not in use; independent of PDR.
Thanks for your input. Based on your response, I believe that I have a different problem than you had. Hopefully PI-1380A will correct the problem that I have. As I mentioned, I get the red X only when I use the GPA and PDR at the same time.
I won't be able to take my Vette in to the dealer for at least two weeks. In the meantime I was hoping that a Forum member could tell me more about PI-1380A. Thanks, Norm
