Over the years I've had McGard locks and Gorilla locks. Both work, but I liked the Gorilla better as the key was easier to slip on and stay on and can't strip the lock like McGard can.

I figure they will discourage all but the professional wheel thieves and are worthwhile.

I currently have no locks because I swithced to black lug nuts and couldn't find black locks.

Ditto, I didn't like the chrome lugs on the black wheels, the lock part was just a small bonus,

Funny, I had the opposite problem with Gorilla Locks. Bought them for my S-10 since that is all the local Truck Accessory store had. The key broke first time I used it. Took a while to pound on a socket and get enough grip to remove it! Went back to McGard Locks that I always used and that GM sells under their brand name at a higher price!
On my yellow ’08 C6 with gray wheels I bought Black McGard Locks and Lugs, part numbers on pic. Same part numbers fit the C7, call McGard techs if you have a question.
However on my C7 CRM with Black Wheels decided to keep everthing Chrome and see how I liked the look so bought their part number 24137 after calling and asking a McGard tech since I bought in October 2013 when I received my C7 and no fitment data was available.
They work fine and will not bottom as their fancier tuner lug nuts and locks might. Since I am keeping the Chrome “fish” and front and rear Chrome, decided I like the Chrome Locks and OEM Lugs. To each their own!

No jack needed even for random teenagers -something to lower the car onto (cement blocks), let air out of tires and away you go. To me, wheel locks are more of a nuisance. Wait until a clown at the tire store over torques the wheel lock and you have fun getting them off without an impact wrench. You'll curse the wheel locks then. Ask me how I know?

The wheel lock advantage is minimal at best, buy them because it's a great way to match the lugs to the wheel. Forget protection. You tube is chock full of vids how to easily spin them off. My gunmetal lugs are a great highlight on my wheels. As far as somebody else messing up the adapter, no problems as nobody touches my wheels but me:

Some have experience an out of balance problem when using locks. I'm rollin' with none.
