While I think the probability of needing a fire extinguisher in the C7 is minimal, I’d prefer to have one in the car.
I haven’t seen anything on line that wouldn’t significantly compromise interior room. I had two small diameter fire bottles for our cars but they were getting old, the manufacturer is out of business and calls to major manufacturers didn’t result in similar replacements. Tested one and while it functioned, it was sluggish and made me question if the other would work.
The only solution I have come up with is putting a Velcro patch on the bottle and letting it stick to the carpet in the hatch directly behind the seats.

Anyone have a better solution? Thanks, Don
Should be easy enough to find the fire extinguisher itself. There are plenty of them designed for boats. I know where I live my jet ski when I had it counted as a boat with an inboard motor as far as MN DNR was concerned. That meant you had to have an extinguisher (always thought if it were on fire I'd just jump off ).
Figuring a way to mount it where it wouldn't come loose and fly around, particularly in an accident would be the hard part. I really doubt just velcroing it could do the trick. There seem to be a lot of mountings designed to be mounted to a roll cage but that doesn't help much either.
My thought is that somthing of that size and weight would be more dangerous than its worth unless it could be 1. very securely mounted in case of an accident and 2. Not so securely mounted that you couldn't get to it if you needed it.
Edit: It occurred to me that police cars carry extinguishers so there must be a way to do it. I googled "police car fire extinguisher" and found this : http://indianautosblog.com/2013/09/t...e-extinguisher . So you might look around for something intended for a police car?

2.5 pound halotron fire extinguishers are available and also 5 and 10 pounders. Pick your size. I wouldn't use Velcro to secure one-might have a guided missile if it goes flying in a panic stop or accident.
I just googled and see vetteworks has c7 fire extinguisher bracket. I've got something like that in my C2.
Contact Hardbar for their seat rail mount. It mounts in seconds to the passenger seat rail up front, right below the front of the seat. It's not in the way, and easy to put in and take out. The mount is well built.
Make sure you get a halon extinguisher - regular fire extinguisher is not friendly to electronics.
