Default Nav System

Just moved over to the C7 section from C6. Purchased a 2015 2LT Coupe. The Nav system is not working correctly. It shows a location in Oklahoma. I'm in Florida. Has anyone had this problem or do I need a dealer visit?

Thanks!!

Dealer visit. Do you have a red "X" over the GPS icon?

Common problem, easy fix at the dealer. About 90 minutes...

They have had this problem ever since the 15's came out. Unbelieveable that they are still selling these cars with this fault. Way to go GM

Seems to be PDR induced. 2014s navigation systems seem to be virtually problem free.

Thanks for all the input. I guess a trip to the dealer is necessary. This car is awesome. I have owned 14 Corvettes and this is by far the best.

Welcome to the C7 section. You are really going to like your new one. Put some pics up!!
As said above, the GPS is an easy fix and the nav will work fine.

You will like your new one for a road trip. I just took mine on the first one this weekend - DTW to ATL and back to DTW. Car drove perfectly and was quite comfortable, got decent mileage (29 RT) - enjoy

Just returned from a road trip. I bought the car in Ft Worth Texas and drove it back to Florida. Averaged 29.5 mpg. It was in seventh gear most of the time. Couldn't tell a lot of difference using the cylinder deactivation mode. It is a great driver. I drove my 2013 Grand Sport out there to trade. I loved that car but the C7 is much better.

I'm assuming it has PDR. You can try this trick that worked for me until it got fixed. Turn on the PDR and record for about a minute. Stop the recording and return to the NAV screen. In 30 seconds or so the red X should go away and it should figure out where you are. Only works until you restart though. Worked for me, but others report it didn't for them. Good luck and welcome.

It does have the PDR. I will try that. It's raining now and the car is in the garage. I'll try later. What did you mean by it only works until you restart?

Thanks!!

I think the PDR may be part of the problem. When prompted I inserted an SD card and it wouldn't recognize it.

Did you put the SD card in the glove box? There is a slot in there.

Found it. Started recording and stopped, then tried the Nav. The red x is still on the GPS symbol. Looks like a dealer visit.

Thanks for the advice.

Took it to the dealer today and they told me it is a OnStar module that needs replacing. Evidently they use the same antenna. I don't use OnStar and don't plan on renewing it. Dealer assured me it wouldn't matter. Any thoughts or experience?
