Nav System
Got my '15 Z51 about 3 weeks ago from Kerbecks, shipped to my home in UT. I've had some really poor experiences with the local Chevrolet dealers, so I asked my Cadillac dealer (Harmon's in Provo) if they could perform maintenance and repairs on my Stingray (I've purchased 5 cars from them in the last 5 years - great dealer with great service). Service manager called me back and said they have the okay to do it, and would always take care of my cars.
A week ago I had them perform the 500 mile service. I took them the PDF from the forum link (thank you again!), and when I took it in they had already printed off all the info, went over it with their tech, and there were no issues at all. Put 9 quarts of Mobil 1 in and gave me the other quart as requested. Not one smudge anywhere on the car.
While it was in, I explained to the service manager that my GPS, Nav, and OnStar weren't working. He said they would make some calls and call me back.
They called me back last Friday, said that they found some bulletins and also made some calls to 'TAC', and that they needed the car to run some diagnostics. Took the car in yesterday. They called me in the afternoon and told me they had the codes, called TAC, and were overnighting the needed part. They called me this morning and said the part had arrived, and they would call me back in the afternoon. They called in the afternoon and said everything was working and it was ready to pick up.
I hope the following helps someone who may have the same GPS/Nav/OnStar issues: the problem was an 'internal failure of the vehicle communication interface module'. The module is located under the dash on the passenger side. They replaced the module, programmed it, and that was it. They found 'codes B101D' in the original module, and TAC said to replace it. I've read several threads about red X and such, with different solutions. This was it for mine.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I have the same problem. We bought my wife's car from the local Cadillac Dealer. Sounds like their service may be better. I did read an article saying the Nav problem could be caused by transporting the car. Mine was transported from Montana to Texas where I bought it and then I drove it from Texas to my home in Florida. Only service required so far, I've only owned it two weeks.
Service is a dealer by dealer thing. The two closest Chevrolet dealers that I had experiences with were awful. My Cadillac dealer has always been outstanding, so I asked them to take care of my Stingray. The service manager talked with GM and they said it was fine (also said that non-Cadillac dealers would not be authorized to do Cadillac warranty work but they could do it the other way around). My Cadillac dealer immediately went to work with 2 of their experienced techs to bring them up to speed as needed on vette's. Gotta like that! Your car will be fixed and you'll enjoy!
