Default Time for wait

out of curiosity.

I see so many here complaining that it takes too long for their cars to ship.

how long are they ready for museum pickup after being "born" in comparison?

For a museum delivery there is a minimum 2 week wait from the time it is "born" until a delivery can happen.

In 2010 we did a buyers tour and Museum delivery. We had to fly out to watch it being built and then fly back home wait 2 weeks and then fly back to BG to take delivery.

My car was "born" on 4/07. The first day it was available for Museum delivery was 4/28. Although, you'll notice that this varies a bit from person to person. As mentioned, the official line is "at least 2 weeks after produced before available for a scheduled Museum Delivery".

Rule of thumb is 2 weeks from end of assembly to Corvette Blvd.

Anyone else find it odd that it takes longer to go across the street for delivery than it does across the country?

Default Intentional 'hold.'

Museum delivery vehicles have an intentional 'hold' to ensure there were no build issues before and after a specific car's 'born' date. Mine was born on April 20. First possible delivery date was May 7.

Logistical issues at my end precluded delivery until May 20 @ 0745. I will be there with bells on and getting more excited by the day. And I do not excite easily.

Peace, out.

Not a museum delivery, but my car was built on 4-27 and arrived at the dealership in Richardson TX on Friday May 1. I took delivery the next day on 5-2. From the time my car was ordered until it arrived at my dealer was exactly 6 weeks to the day. I was elated at how quickly it happened. I ordered a black (non-Z51) 3LT coupe with red interior. I think what you order is the main factor in delivery time and where you live is the biggest factor on shipping. I guess mine worked out perfectly on both accounts.
