With the new Vette I am seriously considering Xpel. I want to cover the hood, side mirrors, and fenders.
1. Any recommendations on what package to get?
2. Has anyone had problems with Xpel?
3. How do you prep the car before you take it to the installer?
4. It's a clear piece that goes over the car, correct? So how do you wash and wax it?
5. If you have Xpel on the car then you see a waterspot or other dried up piece of dirt on the car underneath it, how do you get to it with the clear film of Xpel sitting on top the car? I can't just spray McQuires Quick Detail on it and rub the spot off with Xpel on it correct?

I had my car done with Xpel ultimate a year ago and still looking great. I had it applied to my nose, side mirrors, rocker panels and door pull cups. I have just recently removed my side rocker sections due to the fact I now have side skirts and feel comfortable with the protection they provide. It was also tricky trying to keep the edges behind the door clean on my white car. I chose to go a different route and polished the sections I was covering ahead of time in order to make them look as good as possible before being covered. Most people apply to virgin paint. It can be a bit tricky trying to get the film down without catching any lint I would recommend finding an installer who has a climate controlled garage. As far as upkeep I use a spray wax on the film once a month. Good luck!
The xpel installer detailed my car before putting the xpel on.After applied can wax polish it etc.It has A 10 year warranty on it.Something goes wrong go back to the installer.
Anyone who owns the car after 10 years can take the xpel off it'll be like having A new paint job.

I had my 2015 Z06 done with Xpel ultimate. Before it was done installer just told me to wash it day before install. Had the front fascia, headlights, whole hood and louvers and full fenders and outside mirrors. Was told to treat it just like paint and wait at least one week before washing. 10 year warranty on the Xpel and the best part they came to my house and installed it in my garage. Took two them a total of six hours to complete the job !! Already have applied multiple coats of Zaino and use Zaino Z6 ULTRA CLEAN GLOSS ENHANCER every day before I take it on the road !!
