Leaked memo about the new 2016 Camaro:

"• Segment-exclusive, Interior Spectrum Lighting that offers 24 different ambient lighting settings – and offers a “car show” mode"

The Vette didn't get this, but the Camaro did? Seems the reverse of logic.

Here are a few I remember from this exact forum:

1) Why no blind spot assist!
2) Why no automatic parking!
3) Why no automatic folding mirrors!
4) Why no dual clutch transmission!
5) Why no front camera for parking!
6) Why no audible distance alerts!
7) Why no CD player! LOL
8) And now...why no interior lighting!

Yes, each individual "minor" feature wouldn't have increased the cost of the Vette much. But at the end of the day, there's NOTHING GM could have done to appease everybody without increasing the cost of the car twofold. Everyone seems to think that it's unacceptable that a "minor" feature they care about from some other random car isn't on the Corvette. It's time to get over it.

You want it that bad go buy it yourself and add it to your car. Is it
really that hard?[/QUOTE]

Actually, I would have gladly ponied up for #'s 1, 5 and 6.

Replace the rear compartment lights with LED's, just 2 bulbs. Pull the light bulbs from the rear view mirror and replace with LED's, 2 bulbs again. That will give you plenty of light in the cargo area and mirror lights will allow you to see into the front passenger section.
Not sure about the C5 generation but interior lighting has been going down hill since C4's stopped production. The passenger in my 88 C4, with LED's in stock locations, has plenty of light to read a paper map at night and see their feet.

After seeing just how crappy the c6 interior was for the first time the other day I wont be complaining about a single thing in the C7 especially missing features as my 1LT C7 is about 1000x batter equipped than the C6 1LT I was in.

Frankly I am surprised at just how much more we got versus the last generation.

LED replacement bulbs are much brighter. Adding those LED strip lights require tapping into the interior light source.

Camaro is for young kids, Corvette is bought by older people.

Younger kids like ricey lights

I have been looking for the LED replacement lights. Any idea where they sell them?

Some very easy plug & play mods. Not a taste for everyone but did exactly what I wanted it to do for entering & exiting at night.

Here is the link to the LEDs I installed. Both the footwells and cargo area was done in less than 30 mins. Also upgraded the license plate lights from the generic 194s to brighter white LEDs.

Good quality products with installation specs online. I'm not affiliated with jwmllc but highly recommend these items based on my experience.

Also, you could easily remove and plug back in OE lights if you ever wanted to but not sure why anyone would ever go back after seeing the nice upgrade.

Hey, gotta apologize. When i Went to get you the link so you can see the install instructions I realized I got the lights from jwmotoringllc, not corvette mods. Got mixed up with something else I bought from corvette mods.

Open this link then download the installation guide that has pics. Was very simple to do and the lights come on anytime I open the hatch. Nothing hard at all with this install.

Good luck.

Not to take anything away from the vendor, but if you're handy with electrical things you might want to do this yourself and save some bucks. The kit is nice and easy though. The best thing about that footwell kit is the connector. That connector mates directly with the existing light connector is super convenient.

The hatch LED strip is not as sweet because it uses vampire taps. Also a string of flexible LED lights you can stick on is not very expensive; if you do a little searching you'll find many available.

I'm sure these are high quality, however. Magredrod your car looks great!
