Sometimes I don't believe it's the company.I do know for A fact Kerbeck is really busy.Probably what they should do is have an assistant so no one falls thru the cracks.
You would think selling cars that cost $50,000 to $120,000 Z06 they wouldn't drop the ball.
Just my input.

Should I be concerned that I have still not received an order number from my Kerbeck contact for a z06 2016 that I put 10% down on, and the check was cashed over a week ago? My local dealership is telling me that regardless of pricing and allocation, that an order number should be available right when you spec out the car.

The order number is generated when the dealer enters the order into the GM Vehicle Order System. Unless things have changed, Kerbeck does not enter an order until they have an allocation that can be used to fill that order. (They could enter it earlier but they choose not to.) In your case, it's quite possible that they haven't yet submitted your order because they don't yet have an allocation. Your best choice is to contact them and see what they say.

If Kerbeck does not have an allocation yet, then no one has an allocation yet.

I've reached out to my contact yesterday and over past conversations have asked for an order number, still haven't received it. I know they are a proven and reputable dealer, but after putting 10% down I want something tangible for tracking purposes. It would be nearly impossible to believe with their movement that there isn't allocation, so I really haven't considered that as an option. I'll try to reach out to Dave if my contact doesn't have an order number to provide still.

I probably wouldn't worry to much about the 10% down payment.

Kerbeck monitors this forum and anytime they are mentioned in regards to questions from customer about a sale, they usually respond.

You will not see that with other Corvette Forum dealerships. At least I have never seen any other dealership respond directly to posts here on the CF. Only Dave@Kerbeck responds. That does say something about who you are dealing with.

Be patient, if you think waiting for an order sequence number is agonizing, wait till you get the number and have to wait for the production codes to move. That will drive you crazy.

I like everything about my dealings with Kerbeck so far and I hear you regarding remaining calm. Having some way to verify that the order is in GM's system would calm me down tremendously. I reached out to Dave and will give the sales team member another call later on today. My anxiety gets the best of me sometimes, especially with large purchases

Agreed. Another possibility is that they have 2016 Z06 allocations but that they have even more initial orders for 2016 Z06s than they got allocations for in the first week.

I suggest being a little more patient. We're in the very first week of being able to order 2016s. They can't give you an order number that they don't have. I'm the Internet Sales Manager at a Chevrolet Dealership and I can tell you that we haven't yet received our initial 2016 Z06 allocations. I don't know whether or not Kerbeck has received theirs; even if they have, it's possible that they had more 2016 Z06 orders stacked up and waiting than they got allocated during the first week. Give them a little breathing room - they're going to do a great job for you. Don't be one of those customers who makes them cringe every time they hear your voice on the phone.

All of our 2016 Z06 orders got picked up accept for a few yellow ones. I set up all of the orders befor I left for vacation. Usually the guys come to me for the order numbers but I'm not there this week.

I think you rep just called me to get your order number so you'll probably be hearing from him shortly (if I guessed right).

Either way, I'll be back on Saturday and will update our order tracking page.

Unfortunately I too had a horrible and very disappointing experience with Kerbeck last week. Drove down there 2 hours on my day off, wasted 3 hours talking to salesmen and managers. They have a car in bound I am interested in. Was told to expect a call the next day or two..NO call. Called them back ...TWICE...was promised this time a call back...still none. Yes the C7 is a hot item now but next year when they are a dime a dozen out on the road maybe they wish they had a few more new clients!

It also took three times leaving messages before someone finally returned my call.

Anyway, I finally decided to order my car through MacMulkin Chevy in NH and couldnt be happier. They beat Kerbecks price by a couple grand and they dont have that wonderful "dealer doc fee"
Exactly what I'm in the process of doing.

11% off of msrp on a 2016 and zero doc fees.

Yep, macmulkin has won my business and I'm glad I'm putting an order in right now.

No other dealership can touch that.
