Default Hi

I want to introduce myself to everyone on the Corvette Forum. My name is Dave. On 16 May I ordered my first Corvette from Mike Furman. More about Mike in a later thread.

2016 Z 51 2LT Convertible
Laguna Blue
Black Top
Gray Leather Interior
Red Calipers
Magnetic Selective Ride Control
5 Split Chrome Aluminum Wheels
Stingray Sill Plates
Stingray Deck Liner
Splash Guards

I started building my Corvette last Nov & Dec. Many, many different iterations. I have been read the C7 Forum since Jan. Thank you very much for your threads. You have and will continue to provide me with very valuable information about building, ordering and operating the Stingray. Probably 10 years ago, I briefly drove a friend's Corvette for the first time. I have never owned a sports car. Though for a while in college I owned a very used 69 MGB. It was a lot fun to drive when it was running. Lucas Electric System. I always wanted to own a Corvette. In USAF flight school we were told every pilot should own a Corvette sometime during their life. This is my time. I want to experience owning and driving a Corvette. My Corvette will not be my daily driver.

I live in Walkersville, MD. I am a retired AF helicopter pilot. This year marks 36 years of flying helicopters. I currently fly a medevac helicopter out of the Hagerstown MD airport.

Mike says I should receive my Corvette in Aug. I hope so. I would like to take her to Carlisle. Never been.

Waiting now. Like a ball player waiting to be called up to the majors.

Thanks again fro all your help. Please drive safely.

Hi Dave.
Welcome to the forum. Best of luck with your new C7!

Go easy on the throttle, plenty of power to get yourself into trouble.

Be sure to post pics.

Hi Dave, We'll have to meet up at Carlisle as I am also waiting for my 2016 ordered from Mike. I live in Hagerstown and have probably seen your bird in the sky. I'm hoping for a July delivery but that may be a bit optimistic. Do you have a TPW?

My Jet - welcome aboard - I am also retired USAF, we hit the Ft Detrick Commissary almost every week. We are from the Gettysburg, PA area and pass Walkerville each trip. Enjoy it - we made a cross country trip in our 2014 C7 - almost the exact same setup you have. And we got ours from Mike Furman too - ENJOY!

Dave,

Welcome to the Corvette family!! Sit back, relax and enjoy the next couple of months. The anticipation of the build is almost as fun as owning the car. In the meantime, you might want to see what goodies you'll potentially spoil your beast with.

Default Hi

Thank you for your welcome. I will surely take your advice and go easy with the throttle till I become accustom my Stingray.

I have medevaced countless people who lost control of their cars, trucks and motorcycles. No Corvette drivers though.

I will carefully explore the Stingray's operating envelope.

Don't have a TPW yet.

Please drive safe.

First, thank you for your service! Second, welcome to the world of Corvettes. You are going to love the car, just don't try to hover in it.
