I've been commenting about my need to have my door open to allow my hatch latch for 1 1/2 years. I recent post by someone who has been pressing the hatch frame to latch that said his hatch frame cracked reinforced my "keeping the door open" was the right approach for me. However now there is an alternative I just received in the mail, Window Valet. It allows you to remotly open and close the windows with your key FOB! Just hit the open door switch 3 times and the windows open. Then you can easily close the hatch the same as with the door open.
A PDF is not really needed since it is so simple but for those non-DIY folks perhaps it will be a help since it describes the problem, all the things I have tried in 1 1/2 years as well as how easy it is to install and how it works: http://netwelding.com/Latch_Hatch.pdf
I went to that website and found no where I could get a price or the ability to order. HELP????
How much did it cost? How did you order it?
They are not a forum advertiser so can't put their website on the forum. However they have a link on their front page to a 2014/2015 Vette. Lots if info on my PDF.
I am happy for the '16 buyers as their hatch will have the pull down motor. I am really tired of having to use the " that cute Ginger" method, it works but it's a bit of a pain. I am going to check into the Window Valet, seems to be a good idea and worth the $150.

I wouldn't spend 2 dollars for something that makes it easier to close my hatch, waste of money IMO. If you don't have spindly girly arms you can close it just fine.

Funny, some folks don't understand that some cars are different. You can pull down my hatch using the GM hand hold with all your "strong arms" and bet it won't close. For what it's worth I've be using a weight machine with dumbbells for warm-up, 7 days a week for over 30 years ! At 72, in addition to using it and a treadmill every day, I do 3 sets of 10 pull-ups as part of my every 1/3 day back routine! Not quite still curling my own weight but close! Happiness is a tight Vette!
PS: GM didn't revert back to the motorized pull down because folks were weak! Bet the paint cracking on the hatch was one reason. The frame flexes and if it does enough the paint can crack. One poster who has been pushing in the center of the frame to latch had his frame crack not just his paint!
Putting the hatch issue aside I've missed to ability to raise and lower windows with the key fob. A lot of my pasted, less expensive cars had it so why not the C7. Awful nice to get into a well vented car that's been sitting in the hot sun.

In fact that is at least 1/2 the reason I bought the Window Valet! With our hot summers in SC, doesn't take long for the interior to get very hot when sitting in the sun. Frankly I really don't mind keeping my door open to close the hatch! I'll probably still do it much of the time. However in the summer it will be nice to use when I have groceries to put in the back! I'll use the FOB to open the windows, close the hatch then drive until it's cool enough to raise the windows with the door switches.
