Default 2014 C7 Grille Question

One of the rectangular inserts in my grille has gone missing on the middle right side. How can I get a replacement without going through the dealer?

I have a stock C7 grille that has carbon flash tape that I would be willing to sell. PM me if interested. I will be on business travel but will be checking PM's daily.

It is a warranty item, but if you don't want to deal with the dealer try Cultrag Performance, fast service and good pricing. Check out there website, they are forum vendors.

Thanks. I didn't think it would be a warranty item

That is actually a snap out section for the tow hook. Trivial replacement.

It has happened to some other members and I seem to recall it was replaced as a warranty item.

Yes, mine popped out and went missing too at sometime. My dealer would not cover it under warranty. The part number is 22790942 and you can get for $41.26 GMWholeSaleDirect.com or $38.34 at gmpartsdirect.com.

Seriously? You need to go kick your dealer in the nutz. That's ridiculous.

If someone can say theirs was replaced under warranty, I would try another dealer.

I'll try the dealer first since I also have to go back there for the recall item on the windshield washer tank. They blew it the first time. I'll try Preston Hood again.

Probably getting mixed results from dealers because if it designed as a snap on/off part, might be tough to prove/demonstrate the part just "fell off". Hard nose Dealer may contend a rock or other road debris knocked the piece out of the grille...if that were the case, it would not be (officially) a warranty item.

Unless the piece came off as a result of an accident or your own fault, it should be covered by your warranty.

Mine was replaced under warranty at 6 months. I used two tiny black zip ties on the new piece.
