Default Close call!

So I was out today running a few errands with the Vette, and while crossing a four lane by 4 lane intersection with the light in my favor, the traffic stopped ahead of me. The light was still green for me when I stopped. Low and behold, I look to the right and this a** wipe in a cement truck is making a right on red into my lane. It was though I was invisible!

I laid on the horn and pulled out into the left lane just as this monster bumper swept over the right rear quarter panel.

And this guy gives ME a dirty look????

Just venting...

Thanks,

Ken

Wouldn't it be interesting if somehow you could have a non-confrontational discussion with people like this?

I was setting in rush hour traffic, in the right hand lane, literally bumper to bumper, everyone going like 2 mph. Guy a couple of cars behind me in the same lane, whips out into the entrance lane ramp that was rapidly merging (which is why no one was in the entrance ramp), roars up to the point where the entrance lane is merging, slams on the brakes, and tries to force his way into the right lane ahead of me. But since traffic is bumper to bumper, he can't merge into the lane ahead of me. I can't back up and let him in (not that I would have done that anyway) so then he rolls his window down and starts yelling and cussing at me.

I just think it would be interesting to ask him a few questions, like what exactly he was expecting to happen in that situation. But, probably would find that like most other non-rational behavior, the root cause would be something non related. Bad day at work, argument with the spouse, etc. etc.

Glad he missed you....

Or just a complete sense of entitlement as so many of these types display in almost all circumstances!

So I drive a nice car...it's nice, but not as nice as it can be. My neighbor has an Audi s8...now that's nice....I think it's all about age...I'm old, crusty, and very annoying...and proud of it!

Ordinary drive is an old guy's car, a Lexus 350GS...

but, if you knew my history, I'd be about the last guy you'd wanta screw with...

Just sayin'.....

If I were to guess, I'd wager he didn't see me...

Doesn't make me feel any less vulnerable, but I clearly don't think this guy was wanting to just roll over me...

This is the new, gentler Kenny....

Big breath....Calm blue ocean....

This is why two of may cars have dash cams. If I get hit I hope to have everything I need to show negligence on the part of the other driver.
