Front tag will be in place. Event is on city streets and police department HQ is two blocks away. Plus, every state in which I have lived requires front plates, and I have no problem with that requirement.
I am gonna make a sign board. Will swing by BIG Corvette show whilst in Annapolis Saturday for hints about stuff to include, font, etc.
Def will have a chair and refreshments. Hoping to enjoy a beer, too.
A fellow contacted me today and requested pix for possible inclusion in newspaper publicity promoting event.
Thanks to all of you for info thus far. Do keep it coming...
I've done many, many car shows, including inside Mall shows (the AC makes it nice!). The fact is if you are particular about your car (I admit I am) you should plan to stay with it most of the time...lawn chair at the back and all. What also helps is if you have nice folks on either side of you that will share the "keeping watch" duties for those unfortunate few who have no respect for the property of others. Most car shows are attended by folks who like cars and are appreciative and respectful...and control their kids. But a Mall show is a bit different. The general public out shopping didn't come there to appreciate your vehicle....they will be wandering around your vehicles....purses threatening to rub on the car, kids not being minded, etc. At a Mall show years ago, I had my vehicle roped off for display protection. I went to grab a coke and when I came back, here was a woman INSIDE MY CAR....she had climbed over the ropes and gotten in. I asked what in the heck she was doing....her answer "isn't it for sale?"
Duh....yeah, like all the other 60 cars in the Mall were all for sale too. Anyway, just clean the car well inside and out and enjoy it.....just keep an eye out for those few who don't understand the car thing.
