Auto-Up window problem
The passenger window on my C7 intermittently, but fairly often, acts as if something is blocking the window. It goes all the way up, but then immediately reverses and goes all the way down. When this happens, it will happen repeatedly, and I have to raise the window manually, holding the button up. But then I may go days, or a week, before it happens again.
Anyone else have this problem? If so, was it resolved, and do you know what was done? I don't really want the dealer to pull the door apart.

I know this isn't much help, but it makes me wonder if this car has a similar procedure to reset the function order.
The battery's never been disconnected, and the window seems to index properly when the door opens and closes. I did try the window indexing procedure anyway, but it made no apparent difference.
I should have mentioned the car is a convertible, and it's only happened with the top up, never with the top down. Although I don't put the windows up with the top down very often.

Might be a wacky idea, but maybe disconnect the battery and force a re index? When I disconnected mine to install the factory nav I did the negative side. Let it sit for a bit and hook back up. After rolling the windows down and back up, I had to push the vert button "up" until it rolled the windows down and beeped. Then I put the top fully down and back up. Then finish by rolling the windows back up.
I'm thinking for some reason the car thinks all the way up is beyond what is all the way up, and trying to re-index without disconnecting the batt doesn't really re-index?

Hi guys- saw this in another recent thread---- have noticed that I'm having this same issue on my 2015 C7 convertible with 435 miles.
Has anyone figured out what is causing the passenger side window to go up and then go down?
I tried re-indexing, and that didn't work.
Was going to take it in for my 500 mile oil change and was hoping to have a solution from this forum to request the dealer to perform.

I haven't seen any definite, simple solution. A sensor, or the window, or the roof, is out of adjustment, most likely. That's not the answer you were looking for, I know.

I tried adjusting the trunk liner as described in that thread, but the problem is still occurring.
I disconnected the battery and forced the re-indexing.
At first I thought that fixed the problem (was good for 4 consecutive days), but the up and down happened again last night.....UGH!!!!

Simple fix.....
Take it to your local Chevrolet dealer.....the C7 is under warranty. Let them deal with the problem. No reason trying to second guess the problem or get lots of different answers that will only confuse the situation more.
Yeah, that's what I'll do. But it never hurts to ask here and see if someone else had identified a simple fix. I'd prefer not to have the dealer working on my car any more than necessary.
My dealer doesn't really work on too many C7s, so they may not have run into this problem yet.And I really hate having to leave my car there for multiple days while they try to figure out what is going on.
With the MASSIVE network we have on this forum, it's a great resource to pull together all possible solutions (such as the thread that talked about adjusting the trunk liner trim to fix the window problem).
I'm bringing it in for my 500 mile oil change tomorrow and will ask them if they know what's going on with the window.

This is something that you should have been thought about before you even bought the C7.
Sounds like if you need warranty repair of any kind, you're not going to trust the GM dealer or take it to them. Who do expect will make the repairs if and when needed under the warranty?
If you don't have the faith to take a GM made product to a licensed GM dealer, why did you buy the GM brand?

Luckily I read on the Corvette forum that it was a simple $23 fix (Service Stabilitrak TSB #06-02-35-002B Install the clip (1), P/N 19179794, into the SWPS connector).
So asking on the forum can save a lot of time and frustration.

.....there is so much helpful info here. There have been many answers to the OP question, so why not end the frustration and take the car to the company that built it. If you can't trust a GM certified mechanic, who can you trust.

As far as warranty, I expect the dealer to fix it. But I also expect it could take multiple visits to get it done right, and if it's a minor issue that I can address myself I probably will. Look at all the people who refuse to let a dealer do something as simple as an oil change, and ask yourself why that is. There is no shortage of people reporting issues with dealers on this forum.

Hopefully your experience is positive. The way a consumer approachs the service department might result in a bad experience. It all about attitude. Call ahead, speak with the service mgr or personally visit the dealership service dept before having the work done.
Yes, I have a had a great experience using dealership service deparments which include Chevrolet, Jaguar, Porsche, Hyundai, & Ford over the last 5 years. I presently own all 5 brands. I have not had any complaints and nor have any of work completed to report as negative. My 1st experience with my 2015 C7 at the local dealer was excellent. It was only the 1st oil change but it was excellent.
I belong to the CF forum, the Jaguar Forum and Planet-9 Porsche forums. Yes, there are numerous mentions of problems as automotive forums are plauged with these types of posts.
The isssue of negative posts about problems v positive posts have been subject of conversation here on the CF forum before. There are plenty of positive posts but it is easy for some CF members to only concentrate and dwell on the negatives.
I am quite sure that the overall ownership of the Corvette branding which the Corvette are under current warranties are pleased with the service they have gotten from a GM Chevrolet dealership.

There ar emany surveys completed by many consumers and reporting agfencies and GM consistantly shows within the top 10 for service.

My experiences with independent specialist mechanics have often been much better than dealerships.
At this point, I really don't care who fixes my car---- just want the window to stop acting up. Shouldn't be happening on a car with 500 miles.
