Fuel guage quit working

Drifting
Happened on my C5. Techron never solved the problem 100%. Never happened in my C6 that had 33k when sold. You would think GM could have solved the problem that been happening since 1997. Never had this happened in any of my other cars.

Do any of your other cars have dual fuel tanks? (Assuming the C7 has the dual tanks like the C6/C5) I am just curious.

My C5, C6 and C7 *NEVER* have anything put into their fuel tanks except Chevron or Shell fuel...unless there is no choice (such as cross country trips).
C5 has over 100K on the clock, C6 had 83K when it sold and C7 had 52K when it sold. Fuel gauges worked fine
YMMV

GM decided not to put the new part number in the 2017 Owner’s Manual and says “see dealer.” Will not pay their mark-up as a matter of principle! Checked the SDS sheets an am pretty sure the GM product is Techron which many gasoline’s also use in low concentration in Top Tier (if they pay Chevron their patent license!)
MY RESON FOR ADDING:
I do use Sam’s 93 octane high test periodically - it’s typically $0.40 to $0.50/gallon cheaper than Shell my alternate. If you look at the GM product and Techron benefits a key one is it desolves sulfur from fuel sensors. All oil contains sulfur, the cleaning agents in Top Tier help reduce deposits on the sender but have nothing to do with the sulfur level in the fuel.
Changing a fouled sender in a C7 requires dropping the rear drive train to drop the gas tanks and crossover. Recall a post where an owner was horrified when he saw his drivetrain on the dealers garage floor. Another post said a dealer added two containers of the GM fuel additive for $100 and it solved the problem. My concern is if on warranty a dealer gets lots of money from GM to change the sender and nothing for adding a sulfur removing additive!
The money I save using Sam’s gas that has additives but not at the Top Tier level way more than pays for a container of Techron several times/year. Your always having used Top Tier and still having the sender issue, then fixing By adding Techron reinforces my adding a container several times/year as a precaution!
Of interest, it is now recommended for those storing their cars for months to only fill their tank 1/4 full to keep the sender out of the fuel! Not apparently as much an issue when the car is moving as when parked and the sulfur can acculuale!
