Yes, sadly it appears the electronics failed in his car (or dead battery), he couldn't open the door electronically to get out and he (again apparently) didn't know about the manual door release. Both he and his dog died from heat exposure.
Wasn’t it a C6 not a C7? No big deal to me here though. Don
how did this poor man die then? sounds to me like his car didn't come with the manual releases
Every C6 and C7 came with the manual door latches described already. The story of the man that died is lacking a lot of details and there has been a lot of speculation. With all the manual releases and the removable top it is impossible to get locked inside.
As others have said take some time to read through the Owner's Manual; there's a lot of important info in it.
And, if you PM him, be sure to ask if the motion detector in the car works.
BJ is a good guy and as they say, any friend of Jesus is a friend of mine.
Enjoy your new C7 and welcome to the forum.

Thanks Robert! You'll be happy to know that neither Beth nor I have triggered the alarm since that one time at The Bash! We're loving the car! I hope you and Sharon are doing well and enjoying yours.

Really? Are you pulling our legs? I cant believe this thread! If you die in your car cause you couldn't figure an alternate way to exit, well, you probably wont be missed.

How about panic? People act in odd ways because of panic, there could be many reasons why this happened. Heart problems, stroke, shock...but to say he "probably won't be missed" is wrong.
The post that made this weird was the one of confusion if the owners manual was in the glove box or on the floor next to the drivers seat. Brought back memories of when my son was 10 years old and his best friend always saying "What....Wait...." for every little thing he didn't understand or didn't hear. Drove me nuts...
Hope the OP figures things out. The C7 is a great machine and this is a great forum to learn from. Enjoy both !!
